Just got OMER Millennium ICE Fins

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I tried them yesterday. Very good, the best fins I have tried. It will take a while to get used to long fins, but I like them.

Now I'm off to the SETT for the weekend! :D

Yeh! I got some a month or two ago. I love them, although so far they've only been used in the pool. All those scuba dudes gather round and stare at them!

Love that vanilla smell, too.

Those fins have amazing properties. When Lucia entered the pool, the temperature dropped by at least 2 degrees. Brrrr.

I expect a full account with pictures, video, smell-o-vision and whatnot!!
It is about time you'll start diving vertically, I hope it's all you hoped for and more. :)

Sorry to bring up this old thread. I have been looking at these fins for a bunch of years. At least six. Anyway, where is the best/cheapest place to get these? The Deeperblue store does not appear to carry them, and I do not have a local dive shop around me to support.

Thanks

Thanks Fondueset. They're still 250 though. I am such a tight wad I'll keep looking for something cheaper.

Cheers

For italian products like that at a cheaper price you must search in Italy.
:D
It's worth saying that prices you've found in the Usa are honest at last: you have to charge shipping costs, importing taxes, then the american importer must gain his profits, the district distributor too, the store reseller too. Finally the price is higher, but that's just facts of life.
However, you may message me for italian source: very interesting price, but charged with some 50 dollars for shipping and a couple of weeks for delivery.
Greetings from sunny cheap Italy

LOL :D

Thanks Spaghetti,
How much cheaper is your Italian Source? Gosh I feel like I am talking about something illicit.....

If it is less than say a hundred dollar savings, it probably isn't worth it. I appreciate you keeping me in the loop though.

Cheers,
Gman

PM sent and yes, you can save much buying from here.
But consider one more aspect: warranty. Those fins are covered with a 3 years warranty "replaced if broken". I think that if you buy in the Usa, you would have a better customer care than buying from such a distant place. Money is a temptation, but I don't want you to get in trouble from my advice.

I bought some ice 3's recently. Best price I could find in Europe was a French site. Checked them out for you. $150 but bad news was another $150 postage and taxes. So all in all no help but I thought you might like some numbers. $250 does seem a lot when they're $150 here. Good fins though.
Maybe spaghetti will be of more use to you.

Thank you for doing the leg work for me Dave. I'll keep looking around this neck of the woods. Maybe I can find someone who can put together a package deal of some sort.

Just to say support here in the USA on Omer products is absolutely first rate.

Also - fish seem extremely attracted to ice fins. They also really reduce the amount of perceived movement. I can't tell you how many times I've been photographing fish only to turn around and see my target checking out my fins. Lately I've been attracting certain species by banging the fins together while I am aspetto on the bottom.

They are pricey though - you could pick up a pair of cheaper Omers and buy the blades later.

i got mine for about 90 euros from sunny southern italy on the internet sent to Sweden.250 dollar is so much money you can get the best carbon blades for that amount

Has anyone got experience with the Omer hunting blades? They are shorter and thinner. BTW, all the sites I look at have the ICE fins the same price as all the rest.

Can anyone compare the STIFFNESS in the ICE to the CRESSI 2000HF???? also sizes, are they about the same as per foot pockets?????

Hi,

Newbie here. I've been diivng on normal SCUBA fins - the MARES Avanti. Is it really important to have proper freediving fins? Does it really give you a lot more distance than SCUBA fins? What should I consider when buying fins?

Thanks!
