I've just started dynamic training and am having some difficulty with lap turns in the pool.

I've tried standard swim tumble turns, but these feel very clumsy and not very efficent (not really that good with them on the surface anyway:( !)

Can anyone suggest any alternative techniques

thanks in advance

Turns

Mate, there's a video on the UK AIDA site (www.freediver.co.uk) of a French guy doing a 175m dynamic... check out how he does it, that's the same way I try :)

All the best with your diving,

Loopy

A tumble turn works quite well with a monofin. Just make sure it is a relaxed one as it can take a lot of muscle power.

If you are using Bi-fins then a tumble turn or a hand off (like Stef Mifsud on the video) is fine - again though, make sure it is relaxed.

I like to turn before the wall and then give just a small push off the wall rather than a long drive. It's still within the 'rules'.

Has Tim Dale turned up to your session yet? If he hasn't I'll have words with him, since we are off to London next weekend for an Underwater hockey Tournament.
