looking 4 info spearfishing Side Turkey

I've seen a lot of Turkish, use the scientific name of orfoz, which was in use 20 years ago.
20 yaers ago hte scientific name of this fish was Epinephelus gigas, about 10 years ago changed to Epinephelus guaza and now Epinephelus marginatus is used.

I asked and found out that Grouper madness is right!!!!
So I think I will go to Turkey, for fishing seabass!!!!!

there is also other lots of good fishes you can hunt if you have the necessary technique, apnea conditions etc..etc.. Those are dentex, Greater amberjack, giltheag breams and many more...

I wiil go there probably on November, so there wouldn't still be there any dentex or amberjacks, because the temperature wiil be low.

Thanks to all who have answered on my behalf. It looks to me spearo is out for me. iIam American but of Romanian desent i look as Turkish as any Turk my wife is Turkish I look more Turkish than her. I will be in Ankara for a few days before traveling to Side where do i go for more definite info from government. While it is always nice to be able to hunt my dinner I can do with out just as easy. I live about 6 hours from coast in Texas where we have been catching very large red snappers and nice jacks with occational big groupers. Also have picked up lobster in florida larger than poodles. thanks again to all of you, didnt know what great responses I would get. Always good people in the diving comunnities. Dan

Xaos_22 You right! last year, in February, I was in KAS. Temp was 16C, 18C. my idea should be 24C or 22C in November but, i am not sure. You can get approx temparature infos for Nowember from Yasemin, not Spearo, She is Turkish skin diver. She lives there. Ask her.
