Love my new Omer Alien mask...but how do I turn off the auto-fog feature?

It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.

It's true.:D

Here is a link to one of Spaghetti's post on this: http://forums.deeperblue.com/651116-post2.html

I tried toothpaste on my Alien and it made no difference, white Colgate was suggested by a SCUBA instructor friend. Newer toothpastes often have finer granules (mica I think). Anyway, over time, the problem has gone away. I suspect the silicone film was gradually worn away by use and occasional cleaning with dish washing liquid. ( I may have applied a second lot of toothpaste, I might have even tried the lighter trick eventually.)

I sometimes use glycerine/gylcerol as a de-mister -- glycerol seems to be the main content of most commerical products and costs a fraction of the price, available from chemists/pharmacists. It works for me (I also use it on torch seals). Now a days though, a quick spit, rub and rinse with sea water, in the time honoured fashion seems to do the trick.

By the way what do you do when your Omer Alien mask leaks? I have an answer.
