Re: new memner from London!

Welcome from Texas! Lots of the Queen's own around you to dive with. Cheers.

Welcome Artur, you are not the only Russian on this site but the other guys seem to prefer pneumatic guns?

Thank to every one for being so friendly! I have done spearfishing in Greece on one of the Islands its called Limnos, i have done spearfishing in black sea when I went to Ukraine,and tried to do some in the lake which didn't work for me because viability is very poor! I wish to try some in the UK, but i havet got any body to go with me. Personaly I don't like pneumatic spearguns, I think it doesn't feel so natural. Yes russians do like them I think because they are small and powerful and because most Russians they do spearfishing in rivers and lakes it very difficult to use long powerful guns. I just remembered Russian way of fishing get the battery from the car have two wires attached to it connected to the long metal bar ,take it to the lake put it in the water all the fish gets electrocuted so it comes up. It illegal I have never done it in my life and never would do so!

I think there is a London spearfishing club, they organise trips to the coast, I will try to find out more for you.

If you do that I would be the most grateful to you! and I don't know if any body know any places in London where I can do some freediving training, and how much it will cost me?
Many thanks!

OK I will send out a couple of pms but it might be a day or two before we get an answer?

Try Googling for the London International Club (LIC). Several forum members are also LIC members. Might also be a good place to pick up a Rob Allen railgun.

You can spearfish in the Thames???? I thought it was for walking traffic only! rofl

Welcome to DB Artur! There is a Freediving/Spearfishing club for London-based people; check out their website;

Untitled Document

It's been a while since I logged on there but Paul Maxwell, Mike Bradshaw and Colin Chester all used to be quite involved in the club and I believe they are all DB members so you could also try sending them a Private Message (PM) through Deeper Blue. The members come from all around the world a nd quite a few actually live in London too. Good luck. :)
