New Omer Carbon Blades for Stingray Footpockets

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I am really impressed by how durable the conventional C4 blades are, my friend from Brazil who dives at least 80 times every year (whole day dives), bought a C4/30 blades with omer milenium pockets, three years ago , the pockets are long gone, but the blandes are still going strong no sign of any cracks .

Hey BabyGonz123, I noticed you are from Detroit! You are not too far from me here in Ohio. Check your private messages as I would love to see how much interest you have in freediving the area.

I would love to freedive local, practice in Ohio quarries and I dive a number of wrecks in Port Sanilac, 20 to 110 ft max depths.

I am very new to freediving and recently received my stingrays. I understand from reading that I will need carbon blades due to the water temps here, even in the summer, it's in the mid 40's at depth... thats a 30+ degree change in temp from the surface to bottom. Not the best for a thermoplastic fin. This is more of a question than a statement, any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey All,

Sorry to re ask a question, but the description of the stingrays is a little mis leading, and reading the posts it seems the catalogue has changed from 2009 to 2010, I dont know if this is just the description or the product. I want to buy a pair only for the foot pockets, and half the descriptions from the websites state fixed fin:

Decathlon - SWIMMING - POOL exercise - propulsion fin - flipper OMER - Stingray OMER - spearfishing and freediving.

Are these the interchangeable fin blades, i want to put in some mtechnic blades and these sound like the foot pocket.

Or these they look the same (https://www.apnea.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1038)

The carbon version description all seem to have interchangeable blades, but I wanted to check with someone who has the plastic cheapo's

Ta in advance

Tim

Hi Tim,

Yes, all Stingrays footpockets allow for interchangeable blades. You can get the ones with the plastic blades, and exchange them to other blades, if you wish to. Otherwise you should be able to get just the footpockets.

Do the mtechnic blades you are thinking of come in 22 degrees angle?

Cheers,
Claudio

Hey Claudio,

Thanks for the response, that whatI needed, so I will be buying shortly. Cant seem to see just the foot pockets for sale in the UK so will get them with the blades.

MTechnics come with a reasonable angle, mine are Spirits from a couple of years ago, and have something like 20 deg.

Thanks again, happy bi fin days ahead.

Tim
