Very nice catch the Mat well done .wish I'd seen a fish early this morning Red Sea viz blue sky flat sea till light south easterly picked up ! Nil fish ! Well bar small wrass just crabs and lobsters under big boulders and dog fish my heart wasn't in it really but nice to be out .Used my new tickle stick i made and got this so I didn't blank!

Nice lobby, I saw lots yesterday but I was just using them as practice as they were all fairly small probably take-able but I would have felt a bit mean. What is this tickling stick? I was thinking I need something to entice them out of their holes.

Also I understand that you are supposed to cook them fresh but if you are not going to eat them straight away is it ok to freeze them live then defrost them later to cook like you would prawns?

A tickle stick is any thing you won't a thin strong pole Cain stick rod tube to tease the little blitters out ! I wouldn't spend to much cos your going to lose it as it may be dark low viz weedy etc the picture above the one on left a 4" x2 foot roller handle from a DIY shop £2.99 with a wrist bungee .one on right is 1 m alloy tube £5 DIY shop with a 45 % bend on end about 3" long to aid the snare if you can get behind the beast with 200lbs mono down tube to a cork at mo!i put black insulation tape round it so it can't be seen ! This morning i tickled him from behind he shot out and I went for a fast grab ! Think it may be one lobster a day for divers in Wales I've just read ! Oops.i try and keep them alive then cook them then strip / freeze them pop them in freezer to numb them then straight in to big pot of boiling water.or stab the in the head!

Thanks for that they look great. I was looking at the pictures trying to figure out what the purpose of the black square was and then I worked out that was just there so you can see the mono

LOL its the I pad snare trap with new 2015 trap a lobby app!

Hi All, my dive on sat night was my second night dive in two years. I have really missed them, I used to dive more at night than I did in the day (several times a week) but since I moved back up North from Plymouth its not so easy just to pop down in the evening. I was knackered on sat driving back - think I nearly fell asleep at the wheel a couple of times, and my wife was super worried about me since I stayed in the water an hour longer than I intended to (I was having too much fun).

Anyways if anyone needs a night dive buddy let me know.

On top of your usual kit you are going to need a good torch - I used to have a Princeton Tec shockwave LED what a torch but unfortunately it blew up on a hot day in the car. Now as I don't night dive that regularly any more I didn't want to fork out wads of cash. I have bought a couple of LED torches online but they don`t last very long so I bought one of these the other day http://www.decathlon.co.uk/wide-angle-diving-torch-id_8246028.html# . I used it on Saturday and its a great little torch so I totally recommend it, it uses cheap AAA batteries, 3 hours life on full beam and comes with a 2 year guarantee.

It didn't look too bad when I checked the scyc webcam this afternoon, have a look at the webcam link on www.scyc.com and turn the camera to the jetty.
