They are very nice indeed. A bit of a pain to clean that is all. Generally head and tail is discarded (to many bones) but the middle part have plenty of delicious meat and the bones are big so not an issue. Sure you need to catch a decent size one though.
 
Looks like an angry, speared conger would bit a bit of a nightmare to deal with. Do they not wrap themselves around everything, including you?

Nah, the best is to give it a good deadly shot though. Even because it is very easy to rip it off.
 
Last weekend was good viz wise but v cold .Monday after fishing from 7 am till 1 pm trying 3 different spots only saw 1 million jellies thousands of spiders hundreds of dogs 1 shoal of mullet and came out with 1 -4lbs spider and two 3lbs spiders roll on warm water!

Went through a decent window of good visibility yesterday and decided to go and visit pollock heaven. Managed a couple of good fish, spooky Pollocks with extremely long shots. SEXY FISHERMAN!!!! [emoji1]

Nice Pollocks there Dario ! Suprised you got a window on the weather or viz freezer must be filling up with them two beasts ! Roll on next weekend and some calm weather .how much did the pollock weigh in at ?

I didn't weight the fish, a wild guess around around 7 pounds each.

Think you VooDooed it Dario !Looked good all week popped over last night wind had picked up viz wasn't to good where I looked on south so I came home early this morning .this is what I wanted!wishfull thinking weather looks good this week coming?

I went of course!

Good conditions out of the water and really poor in the water. Milky vis, some places 0 vis and very little fish around, most of the places were totally fish less and conditions on the boarder of being unfishable. Made the most of the day with some small fish for dinner. On the good side, I had some massive Dolphins near my boat, some swam under it and one kept jumping out of the water around the boat. It was truly an amazing experience and some of them were absolutely massive, I'd say 3-4m. [emoji15][emoji15][emoji15] All in all it's always good to be out there.

That's prob why there were no fish around! Sounds fantastic just seeing the dolphins !fish aren't bad either! God man what do you won't from life ,you've got ya little mermaid in the boat know doubt!x

Hi guys, thought it was about time I introduced myself on here, I've been keeping an eye on the forum for long enough. Fellow spearo from Angelsey here, albeit a bit of a newbie! I've been borrowing friends guns in the past but I've just ordered myself a Cressi Geronimo and I've got a few questions. One of which is; are there any advantage/disadvantages between using mono and dyneema? I've got a lot more faith in a knot over a crimp so I was going to go with dyneema, what are your guys thougts?

You're pulling out some cracking produce from the area by the way, if anyone's got any tips or suggestions im all ears.

Welcome to the forum! Dyneema is heavy and will slow down the shot and even worse it may deviate it. You need nylon and if you don't trust a crimp (you should ) you can always make a knot with nylon and finish it with some loctite (however, I would use a crimp).
 

Yes that one would be fine. I would personally take a thinner one, 1.6mm is not necessary in North Wales. I am using 1.2mm and it is more than enough. You could also make a little piece in dyneema for teh shaft and the rest with nylon as in the picture attached. I am using this system with Michelangelo 65 and it works great.

Thats great, the diameter was going to be my next question. I see Cressi only go down to 1.4mm in their kits, do you just use standard 1.2mm nylon fishing line? A quick google search for 1.2mm nylon line brings up some pretty cost effective garden strimmer line, do you think this would be flexible/suitable enough?

Thanks for the idea for the dyneema joint on the shaft, I think I'll have to incorporate that into my set up.
