hi, went to pwllheli last night just before last light for a dive.
had a good old look only to find plenty of baitfish female spider crab and small lobsters did see one bass around 1.5pound but it was far too fast to get my gun on it.
so i decided to get out and head to another spot. as i stood on the shoreline i could see a torchlight just where i had been. I think it was bass d.

got to the other spot and the vis was good 5m. saw a decent group of bass so i picked one out and shot it.
then i swam for ages to see nothing, about 30 mins later i saw a bass on its own. on the stinger it went.

Will manalive , when ive been in later, flat at mo !........later just got back from south side vis was 6 m + wind really picking up from south tons of bait fish massive sholes loads off wrass one 2.5lbs mullet taken and a lobster and a small tub gurnard some pollock around but too small no bass sighted water warm getting rougher by the min .spider crabs all over.vis down along shore line.

Hey Dyl, yeah it was me last night. Spluttering with my emergency snorkel. I think I might as well gone with out it. Ended up with two bass as well. 2lbs and 3lbs. Vis was awesome at the bottom around the arm.

I always spear alone at night. I guess it's no too bad if the vis is greater than the range of the gun. Other than that. I wouldn't fancy company at night.

good work on the bass mate. I know what you mean about diving alone. nothing like a solo dive to chill out and get in the zone.

Yep, It was me with a couple of Italian friends. We left though as it was really windy and moved to another spot a bit more sheltered.

Well my phone died halfway through my week on the LLyn so wasn’t able to send any more reports. After last Wednesdays great day at Aberdaron, I spent Thursday diving a few spots along the north of the *Llyn (few pics below).* The ocean was alive with fish. I saw lots of big *bass which were continuously just out of reach. Very frustrating. With the vis so good, when I dived down it spooked most fish within 10-15m. It’s not often I wished for a bit of murk! I did however take a* nice mullet – shot through a kelp patch.

Thursday it was cloudy and with calm seas I returned to the same spots as the day before. With overcast conditions I thought it was going to be an easy day and I would be able to sneak up onto those big bass....BUT I didn’t see a single bass? It was as if the ocean knew a storm was coming and the fish had taken cover in preparation. Even the mullet had gone! *Really weird! *Anyone else encountered this?

Friday I regrettably spent the mornings high tide on the kayak with a rod and line (caught a surprise codling), but I should have speared as Friday pm the wind picked up and put an end to my spearfishing adventures.* Sat and Sunday was spent surfing and getting blown about alot lol.

Overall a fab week. *Hopefully last weekend’s storm has blown in a few more bass and I look forward to reading your reports over the next few weeks. Sucks living in the Midlands!

Unfortunately the water was too murky for that. Hopefully this coming weekend as it looks like it is going to be good. Yes it is stunning indeed!!!!!

Well done Hoppe for getting fish and coming over so far sounds like you had a good week shame about the phone and loosing contact with us all could of met up Friday but it was all last minute .shame the wind came in so badly it was howling .see what come this week end any one coming down?
