Nice haul Denian. I took a shot at a gar fish the other night but missed. I fancied trying one. are they good eating?
Had a dive in south Anglesey today, at a site I'd fancied trying for ages, vis was amazing. Saw a fair few bass, loads of rushed misses, got a grip and bagged my first bass this year

My shaft today after my pollack session of yesterday.

Never thought this could have happened in Wales, some of those big boys have a fair strong reaction!Some pics of the weekend the sea was glassy fri eve loads of bass but just couldnt get in the right position to hit any.did get three mullet ,1pollock,1gar fish ,my first and with the 90 and 1 flonder and a place well foxy stabbed it and gave it to me to pull off spear really.Thanks pat !vis was fantastic but still learning only if !Why o why did i wait for the big ones they were the big ones !LOL.

Important to mention Saturday I also got a black bream, seen a few about along with some bass but I stayed focused on the pollacks.
My target for this summer is to land a decent cod.

Hey Dario, id be quite interested to know how deep you would have to dive to land a cod? Ive had cod and black bream on my list for a while.

For the cods I don't know as I only got a couple of small ones long time ago. I heard they normally stay in deep waters. I know of guys catching them at 20-25 meters down south so I assume that is more or less the depth you would need to go in North Wales as well. On the other hand regarding black breams last Saturday I saw many and it was as shallow as 7-8mt.
Cheers Dario. I doubt I,d make it that deep. I've been to about 12m and felt quite comfortable. Doubling it I think might be pushing it.
I guess I need a boat to find some bream. I've never seen one inshore. Thanks for the advise.
You never know, never loose the hope. I know of some rod and line fisherman getting black breams from shore at least in a couple of locations in North Wales. Never seen one underwater myself in these places but I know they catch them so they are there sometimes.
