Nice Manic glad some one was in this weekend!thank for confirming my thoughts about north coast .Its not been good all year ,do keep us updated well done with the Gar good hit!.

Got in today, vis was 3m+ but it didn't feel overly fishy. Got in a bit late, towards the low tide. Did get a triggerfish, and saw a nice blue lobster but I'm not that confident grabbing them and it got away.

Also saw some huge velvet swimming crabs.

Going again tomorrow. (gotta love mid week days off)

Thought I'd put a few pics up from my dive last week - went out with another spearo from here in their new power boat.

The conditions were lovely, saw all manner of creatures, including Red Mullet, which was a new one for me!

Hauled out a huge lobster which was a new PB:

Tipped the scales at bit over 4lbs - found him lurking under a huge rock about 12ft x 10ft that you could see all the way under - he was in middle with 3 escape routes, I had to literally get my whole body under the rock to get at him - unfortunately, he retreated to a little cave deep in a crevice and holed up - time to call in re-enforcement's...

The two of us formed a battle plan with me waiting to grab and my buddy doing the 'tickling' - unfortunately, the beast had other ideas and stayed put - very wisely, just out of spear reach.

It was getting a little murky under the rock so we went to get a torch - on our return, we found that the lobster had legged it! Knowing that lobsters never seem to go that far and usually enter the first hole they find when escaping, I had a quick look around and sure enough, found him hiding in an easily accessible hole where I grabbed him without any trouble.

The rest of the day was great fun, with a few more beasts added to my bag:

Also came across this claw on the seabed... wow...

Can you imagine the size if lobby on that one; no wait, can you imagine the size if lobby that potentially dismembered that fella?

Check if they're in stock before you head over,a lot if stuff on the site isn't in store. It might be worth asking if anyone has any fins for sale,i might have, what size are you?

Ah, good thinking. Always prefer a cheaper option if there is one. I'm size 9. Only have scuba fins with open heel for boots at the moment so unsure of what size I'd be with 5mm socks...

Fins4u.com have a big selection. Ive a pair of the stereo carbon things which are good and they can help with sizing. that said, ive done years and years with the cheapest off the shelf ones which were about 20 us dollars and i still enjoy using them as I dont worry about rocks etc. the proper ones come in handy when you start going deeper and longer (broceiden) but you can catch plenty in wales without having to push too hard.... Or should i say, that some people can........ :-(

Should add hat ive never seen the freedive fins in stock. Order them perhaps

Did 2.5 hrs before high this morning on south with Foxy , very disappointed with viz .5 -3 m v milky sea was flat conditions great getting better as we left midday .1 mullet seen between us. Great to be in and getting in the hunting zone. If you don't go you don't know! Think the surf is going off soon by the looks of all the boards going down to Hells mouth.

what more can I say, long time since ive been in at night, forgotten how fantastic it is! Grabbed a bass and saw another but best bit was swimming with dozens of huge mullet. "How do they know you aren't going to take a shot? They stuck with me for ages just swimming about. could give em a tickle with the spear and they werent bothered. Best bit for me was the prawns. Huge ones everywhere. Didnt need the spear really, was a really good mooch. Currents were a but strong but v cool.
This mornin was basically a good swim with a comedy fish behind a rock moment. It was a bit odd in some ways, there was fantastic cover, great weed, rocks etc but some of that green slime weed on the bottom. the one thing that was odd is that there wasnt much food available, no crabs etc like the previous nights spot. Wonder if that was the reason or just bad luck etc. Either way, great couple of swims, bass v tasty tonight!

Had a limited window of opportunity so boned down an back today. Due to constraints only had time to dive before and after low slack. Viz on the north was varied from just past spear tip to 4m, but ok overall, I'd expect brill on the flood up to high. Plenty of life seen but no bass presenting themselves to me, only one fish taken, mullet just shy of 6lb

Got in yesterday, was really milky, some southerly swell had arrived, and northwest wind so didn't look like there were many options, checked south facing, and north facing. North looking slightly better.
