Im just saying just because the sun has gone down doesn't mean you are automatically fishing unethically and irresponsibly , and by the same account just because the sun has come up at 5am doesn't mean you can take 20 bass !
I get Darios point though about it being un sporting . I have never done a night dive yet so cant comment on how easy or not it is to take fish. But I don't have a massive problem with it as long as people aren't taking lots of fish.

Night diving is an amazing experience all right...as to morally right or wrong... it just depends on your motivation.

If you take a single fish for your own consumption, I don't see any problems for that point of view.

Taking fish to sell or even give away is a different matter.

In the autumn months when the clocks change & it is dark at 5pm, night diving offers a much extended season & a fantastic opportunity to see lots of fish out in the open.
Sole, red mullet, rays, squid, lobsters, uncovered plaice & many other 'hard to spot in the day light' fish.

Night diving is potentially very dangerous is many ways, diving at night without a gun will offer less risk but it is not something to be done without a lot of thought.

I've never done a night dive. I haven't really thought about it. I wouldn't mind seeing the ref at night. I imagine it's quite different.

Yes the catches can be good but things work themselves out - I dont have a problem with large catches as long as its not wasteful. If I only get to go spearing once or twice a year and take 10 fish each dive thats just the same as somebody who dives 20 times a year and takes just one fish.

Well there is a funny story here. Im actually Matt Barlow but I seem to be locked out of that account on my PC. I changed my email a few months ago and that had caused a few problems. I created this account months ago on the new email but was told I couldn't have two profiles but now it seems to be working but I can't log into my old profile other than through my phone!

So if somebody goes once every 10 years he should be allowed to fish with explosives and get 200 fish I guess.

I think if somebody doesn't have time to go and get fish in a sportive way he should rather go and buy them in the supermarket.

I think you should chill Dario - from my experience, fishing in the day is FAR more productive. Have you ever even been on a night dive in the UK? I'm not sure you have. Maybe down South it's very productive but in N.Wales, it's not that great.

Yes, shooting a fish in the dark when you're shining a torch at it is not very sporting but then you would happily shoot a bass that's sleeping in the kelp, wouldn't you. What's the difference? I can't see any.

If a fish is asleep, that's even less sporting than shining a torch at it.

Getting cross because a few people take a few fish at night is really a bit silly. I understand that if people are going out and taking huge hauls of fish, then that's not that cool but the odd one, I can't see a problem with it.

Let's be fair, in reality, you take more fish than all the North Wales spearos on this forum combined. I'm not quite sure that you're the one who should be preaching!

Hi Stephan, I know - in fact we have already deleted bass assassin once but when I reset the password on the Matt Barlow account it seemed to re- start the Bass Assassin account. If you must delete one i would prefer to keep the Matt Barlow account but I will need a new password for it. cheers
