o2 co2 tables

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Bringing this thread back on track :D, with the alterations suggested for the tables, and leaving some ventilation times shorter than those at the end of the table, I reached a new PB this morning of 3:00 :). Many thanks for everybody's input, all of which has helped.

That's great! Well done. I had forgotten about trying shorter ventilation times :duh so thanks for bringing the subject back on track.:thankyouAfter reading about your success I'm definitely going to try it!

Any more suggestions for alternative o2 / co2 tables - or even completely different ideas for dry static training - would be great. After all, variety is the spice of life, and tables are not the most exciting exercises in the worldzzz However, I still find myself getting addicted to them!

I was browsing the internet and came across this site, which I thought might be useful for some members:

freediving : CO2/O2 tolerance tables

Hello all, first time poster here.

This is my application, it was really just a chance for me to work on my JavaScript skills, and it's currently "under development".

I plan to add a section explaining how to use the tool as well as a user feedback section in the near future.

Let me know if you have suggestions!

Do you know if someone has already tried this training table ?

- Full inhale + pack
- Hold with filled lungs until blackout
- Once regain conscious, immediatly one full exhale + reverse pack
- Hold with empty lungs until blackout
- Once regain conscious, immediatly one full inhale + pack

I think it can be a very effective training for hypoxic tolerance as well for hypercapnia tolerance.

Is blacking out sensible, I was always under the impression that a hold should end before approaching that point, or is this acceptable practice, and is it used by freedivers? Does blackout, whether shallow water or on dry land, not pose health risks? Just trying to get all the facts together, as a beginner to the sport, info is power, or so they say.

It's hard to understand that blacking out would be an "acceptable practice". If you get samba (LMC), it's enough to tell you, that you have gone too far. You can get a BO also without a samba.
You are right 5kgLifter, blacking out could have healthy risks, easily fatal ones. Even when dry, you can hurt yourself. And if you get often dry BO:s and there is nobody helping you, maybe one day you can get some fatal problems with inhaling after BO (tongue, vomit, ...). If you get a BO in water, you will drown (die), if there is nobody beside you helping you.

As I wrote above, please ignore the post of Gladisse. It is an evident troll - just have a look at her (or his) last posts from 2005 (did not post since). Her/his first DB post was removed because of rules violation, and apparently this post here was a provocation too.

EDIT: Aside from the risks Timo mentioned, frequent or repetitive blackouts can really harm you much more severely than a single incident. Besides it, there are opinions that the body "learns" blacking out sooner and sooner, if you push your limits often to LMC or BO.

Sorry, I wasn't too sure which of the 2 posts you were referring to as the troll, now I realise it was the latest of the two posts.

Thank you to both of you, Trux and TimoP, for explaining the risks associated with blackouts in relation to the poster's suggestion of deliberately bringing them on.

Sorry, I did not realize it could be associated with the Jenny's post. As for Jenny - quite in contrary to Gladysse, I thank her for the contribution, and welcome her to Deeper Blue!

I just want to add my name to the list of freedivers who know Blackout and samba is bad for the health and can easily be fatal even on dry land. A BO or samba is your subconscious mind taking control, as if it is saying "you are being irresponsible with this body so I am taking control of it until the situation improves"... BO or samba can only help if it teaches you not to hold your breath as long in future.
I agree with trux - the person "Gladisse" is obviously not a freediver and has only bad intentions here.

o2/co2 tables on mp3

Hello all, first time poster here.

Hello Jenny,

Thank you for this great tool, I am new to this site and new to O2/CO2 tables and know even less about coding/programming etc; therefore any suggestions from me would be pointless. BUT (there is always a but) I have a request. What is the possibility of having these converted to mp3 files so one could download them for use on an mp3 player?

Thank you,

Couv

I'm looking into it - certainly easy to do with the preset tables, I can just tell my computer to record it, let it play, and wait. Then upload the files. It will take a little while. I'm not sure if there is a solution for the custom tables though. Also, the downside is no pretty music... Unless people want to trust my musical selections (hint - unless you like Tangerine Dream and Infected Mushroom this might be a bad plan).
