Omer Milleniums or sporasub polytechs?

I've just put in an order for the millenium greys which are soft. Omer Millennium Winter Full Foot Fins (Dive Gear / Fins)
Spaghetti give a good description of them in His post in this thread. Sounds like they might be too soft for Your requirements.

The omer millenium runner that You are talking about is a hard fin by all accounts that requires a bit of leg power, it might be too stiff in 12 C. But like Spaghetti says some guys are using them in cold water.

thanks Davie, I read that one and it look positive, his water temp is similar to mine. I am now pouring through: http://forums.deeperblue.net/freedi...lease-add-your-info.html?highlight=fin+sizing to size them.

I use 40-42 Imersions on my size 8 UK (9US, 42 euro) feet with 3mm socks they are fine but my new 5MM are too tight. I am thinking the 42-44 Omers will be good.

I imagine you wear 5mm or so socks too, what size omers are you going for vs. your foot size?

I'm a UK 8/Euro 42 and I'm going for a 42/44 and I'm hoping its good with 5mm socks. I'll need to take the pocket to a local diveshop and try a few socks to make sure.

Got My millenium greys... Oh boy they are soft! Haven't had them out in the water yet as the weather is terrible at present. the OMER footpockets are very square... haven't figured out if thats good or bad yet. i'm gonna have to go to the diveshop and find the right socks for the pockets at some point then I'll report back. They seem good comfort wise without doing any swimming tho... they smell nice too

Thanks for the Feedback Davie. Please let me know how they feel with 5mm socks. Note they always feel tight trying them dry, sweaty feet/dry fins etc. Put a little soapy water in the socks and footpockets before putting them on. Hard to do in a shop I guess....

initial feeling is they will fit with a 5 or 6mm sock. The shop I bought the fins from recommends roughly 2 sizes up for a 5-7mm sock. I'll see if I can buy on condition of fitting or exchange to save Me raising eyebrows in the shop.

Got 6mm socks for My 42-44 milleniums and they are fine, they have enough room for a 7mm tho. there is a little play round the sides of the heel but they grip well round the front of the foot. I reckon You'll have no probs getting Your 5mm socks in, You May even wanna beef them up a bit.

This is a German Shop which acually tested some of the fins. If you have trouble understanding aks me, I'll help.
Some intereseting test were done like how much the fin bends when you apply one kilogramm at the end of the fin.

Gave me a good clue when buying my fins.
I dive the Millenium Blacks, but you can't take me as a reference coz I really need thrust. I weigh over 110kg.

Hmm... this site says that runners are thinner and bend more than millenium blacks. I thought runners were the hard ones.

I think You'll be alright with those cos they are just the next up from greys and they are very soft.

I have millenium black, too and I´m using them in our "could" wabter the whole year (by now 13-15°C) if you do not intend to swim long distances they are very good (fast to go down and up again) rofl
