OMER's NEW GUNS!!!

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
nobody has new barell shape? Why OMER does not produce elliptical carbon barell? Not cost effective i guess... right?

I was wondering the same Murat.
I remember the elliptical barrel of my old Beuchats' Top Shot, in alu thought, they were very good for fishing ''a la rompiente'' and gave a quick response for handling the speargun to the sides.
Old nice memories with those guns.

So Mark, no elliptical barrels in the Omer catalog for the future? And again, that new trigger mechanism looks sweet!

Cheers,

Roberto

besides the economic question, i really wonder if you will feel a difference in the carbon barrel, i mean its very light in the base case, not sure there will be much difference in side tracking of a circular barrel versus an elliptical one if both are made of carbon fiber especially if we are talking about 25-28 diameters... maybe if they were thicker wooden guns the cross section would make a difference, just my 2 cents
cheers

thanks Mark

as a big fan of omer guns ( thanks to Spaghetti :) )
i find Omer open Muzzle guns so good & effective
i was one of the first spearos to use the XXV gold in israel
i was so surpprised for the weight aiming shothing & power

i am woundering if the new guns have the open muzzle & rail
i want to have a 110 carbon with those (rail & open muzzle)

if it is possible to give us a full photo of the gun
thanks a lot
Eyal

Hey Mark,

What is dimensional differences between match 50 and race 90 ? only couple of cms wider? and are those gears reliable after some time of use?

How is the ballance and the weight of the cayman? has enough mass-balance for double 16mm bands and 140-150cm 6.5mm bands for 100-110 cm gun? What you think?

Kinda Off Topic, but I've seen the 2007 OMER catalogue: masks and snorkels in brown camouflage are exactly what I was waiting for. And if anyone dived my waters will understand why I need brown camo! :head

Brown is the new black! With a brown mask and a hydroformed gun I will definitely be one step closer to global conquest! Muahahahahhahahaha:girlie

With a brown mask I will look like Mohammed Alì with a clear mask! Muhahahahaha!

(ok, nothing special: just italian humour)

did U know that OMER new CAYMAN HF comes with 2 handles
& AMERICA SHARKFIN shafts!!!!!!!!!!!!
it shuld be a vety good points to the gun & OMER TEAM

I forgot to laugh at Spaghetti's joke rofl

I'm really interested in the light trigger pull. These guns should be very accurate for small, fast fish at range.

May I reserve one in the pink, orange and yellow colors, to match my fins? :D
j/k

Very nice.

we can do something about it
next time U are around Israel
i personaly paint your gun:friday

If they can produce masks in trendy designer colors they certainly could do it with spearguns. Teak goes with pretty much anything. I'd like to see those Italians step out and make a bold statement. How about Chrome? Or a gun made almost entirely transparent?

Oh i like the idea of transparent! To go with your ice fins? Oh, Chris, did you see Guidone's transparent monofins? thought they might make a nice addition to your collection:

WOW! Where do you get them! I'm trying to accumulate as much invisible stuff as possible. I feel certain this fulfills the Daoist paradox of non-posession. :yack

PS-Found em - only sells in france!

Cool Brianna. But what about this?

Mat Mas is a highly valued fin brand here in Italy. I'm surprised it's never mentioned on DB: www.mat-mas.com

For Fondueset speargun question, Crome would be great for tropical barracudas. But you gotta shoot'em quick before they try to eat your gun!
One of my buddies uses Gold camo for his guns: he says it's the best because fishes take it for a ray of sun. I havent' tried but I will some day, as I see it works pretty well with him. One official precedent: in 2002 Ciccio Accolla won the first category spearfishing Nationals with a Mares Sten 100 all handpainted in Gold paint. Looked cool and...made fish.

Omer's Camo tape is designed along those lines. Triggerfish was thinking about putting flashers on his Ice fins. I'm not sure how far I'd want to go making myself look like a school of baitfish..
