Orca Breathe arrival and Trubridge Videos - update

Did you glue the seams? I did, but I couldn't notice a difference. It feels tighter, though.

i did write before about my orca breath and the problem i had with my zip, so i got the zip fixed and moved on but the zip broke again and it is the tooth of the zip again and another thing that orca could have done with the lining is to put glue over it as a cover to protect the line, the reason for that it is coz the valcro strap, it get attached to the liner and damage it, as you see in the pics


so for the people who said before that this zip it is a big known name and called riri or whatever,,,,,,, please keep your words for your self!

I'm not an expert by a long shot, but these are my initial idea's to partially remedy the suit.

Perhaps with nylon thread and needle you can sew the zipper close at the base.
The wooly seems may want to have a touch by a lighter, and or maybe some sort of glue.

I hope better knowing people chime in with some solid suggestions.

Worked for my Equipe Lite. The seams are looking like new ones…

a little protective piece comes over that velcro when new, you can just use that. i keep my suits inside out with the neck velcroed, I have never had the fuzzines problem other that when using velcro on a neckweight to attach a tag to.

It is true it comes with the small thing to protect the suit from.the valcro strap and it is true if you forget to put this thing on before rinse the suit or putting it on and off u do get damage. So after i seen a different brand that put some kind of glue or protective glue over their liner i did relide that orca were should do that specialy sense their suites r not that cheap. By the way speaking of protaction . It did remind me of warranty. When i get back i will copy and paste the e.mails from orca australia and orca uk.

I have tested the TRN quite a bit now, and can say:
- its is one size bigger than the equivalent breathe. It is great for every day use, slips on and does up easy, seems tough.
- regular YKK zipper.
- It fits very comfortably with little water entry, way more than the breathe though, at the neck and wrists a little water enters on dynamics
- It floats about the same a breathe
- (bummer) it seems way less hydrodynamic than a breathe, almost one full arm stroke per 25m for me (that is, 3 for the breathe or old RS1, 4 for the TRN)

The last point is a bit of a killer, it may be me though, I have not been in the pool too much lately, too much in the Gym (bad). Maybe I need 0.5Kg more to get it flying.

Interested to see any more comparisons TRN > Breathe

I am a triathlete starting into free diving. I have an orca s4 sleeveless suit I use in tri's. I'm going to my level 1 freedive class in September in south Texas and wanted to see if I should use my orca s4 wetsuit there. All the areas I will be diving are tropical warm water locations. Any feedback is appreciated.

September should be warm enough for it in the gulf I think. Otherwise there are plenty of Orca longsleeve suits that would be good for that location and even slightly colder water.

It looks like Orca is slowly running out of the Breath wetsuits, and has no intentions to produce them again any soon. This is what a friend received from Orca when asking why most of the sizes are not available:

"Unfortunately, there are no immediate plans for another production run of Orca free-diving wetsuits."

I know there current stock is getting low worldwide, but the head office tells "we are in the process of getting another order of Freediving suits at the moment." There may be new novelties, but that's all I can say for now!

A "Free" is to expensive for me and the Breathes you can't get anywhere anymore.

If I would like to have a medium ranged suit for dynamics in the pool and maybe warm water depth competitions. What alternatives would you suggest then?

It should have great glide, not too much buoyancy and as little water entry as possible(although I'm willing to makes sacrifices on the latter.)

I use the Orca Equip Lite and love it. Can't compare it to the Breathe though… Sometimes they are sold relatively »cheap« (got mine for 200 Euros).

Yes, two pieces but you can have it without hood if you like.
If you ask me -I prefer two pieces.
