Was the water cold where you had the 30' of vis? That happens quite a bit out on the wrecks in summer time. the top 30' will be warm and cloudy with only 20' of vis, but then you break through to the colder water and you'll end up with 100'+. When we get the east winds in August the warm water piles up and you can have 70 degree water down past 100', but it's all the cloudier stuff and never over 30' of vis.
You could have had some type of cold or congestion that was blocking up a sinus and that caused it too bleed. It's actually pretty common and not something I would get too worked up about.
Gene, I didn't know that "scumbago" ever got that clear? I just heard on the news this morning that 4-5 beaches are closed around Madison due to the killer blue green algae.
