Pelengas Pneumovacuum speargun

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
New battery installed.
Titanium 8 mm slider: length 17.67 mm, OD 10 mm, ID 9.16 mm, rear step 9.60 mm, bore 8.10 mm

Titanium 7 mm slider: length 18.05 mm, OD 10 mm, ID 8.10 mm, rear step 10.30 mm, bore 7.10 mm
View attachment 55245

At 35 m/s speed of the shaft kinetic energies for slider collision to the step end:
- 7 mm; for slider 1.8 J, for water 3.11 J
- 8 mm: for slider 1.16 J, for water 2.23 J.
I would say this titanium hydro-damper sliders would work. The problem might be because the wall of the 8 mm slider is maybe too thin, 0.42 mm..and there is very small gap between the tail step and the slider wall, only 0,08 mm. Maybe the bore would be better to be 8.05 mm to reduce the tilt of the slider and the rear step could be shorter, maybe 7 mm? Very important is that the shaft tail cone must be in a very center of the shaft! The slider must not touching the shaft tail step end during moving along the shaft in any position (sideway).

I suppose this is your latest purchase?
No, I have not bought one of these, but at the Moscow Dive Show 2020 Pelengas will announce a new "Varvar Profi" model, seen below.

An “ICE” model of the Pelengas gun was released at the recent Moscow Dive Show. This gun has white parts for use at night which enable better visibility under gloomy conditions while preparing the gun for the next shot and for relocating it if you happen to drop it when loaded onto the bottom.

Here is what happens when you take a reel frame before it is folded into a "U" shape to mount the spool and instead bolt it together with another similar frame to create a two spool reel. Certainly looks different!

Pelengas have announced a new gadget for attaching a flashlight to their guns which also provides buoyancy to offset the additional weight.

This year at the Moscow Dive Show 2022 the mermaid costume seems to have been affected by budgetary limitations.

At the Moscow Dive Show 2022 Pelengas displayed their flashlight float system that engages under the barrel using a picatinny type rail fitted to the tank.

Well not sure what will be happening with Pelengas now as the world is a very different place in the space of just over a week. The Pelengas Store on eBay has ceased with a sold out notice. https://www.ebay.com.au/str/maksianisimo1

It is a bad situation and right now things look very uncertain and dangerous in Ukraine.

Pelengas is registered as a legal entity in Moscow and has cooperated with the occupiers and terrorists throughout the years of the War since 2014! Paid taxes in Russia! There will be no more Pelengas! Pelengas in Ukraine is outside the Law!

Pelengas spearguns are still available from the Pelengas Store on eBay. They sell from Ukraine and are in stock for now.
There is a limited range available including the carbon 120 cm model.

Apparently the Pelengas factory is within range of Russian shelling as a gun is being auctioned on eBay to raise funds.
"This gun was hit by a mortar attack during the evacuation of goods from production. Only the cover was damaged, the gun is absolutely intact in working condition. All the money received from this product will be spent on essential goods for people who remain in their homes in the production area, this is a gray area under shelling every day."

Pelengas are still selling spearguns and here is a description of the "Magnum Profi" model which is distinguished by that longer plastic screw fitting on the nose which was commented on here some time back. https://forums.deeperblue.com/threads/salvimar-predathor-vuoto-100.109654/page-11#post-1000404

Here is what the company say about it:
"The Pelengas Magnum Pro 90 shotgun is an updated Pelengas Magnum 90 shotgun with some changes and a very rich kit. With this kit, the shotgun is already out of the box, essentially ready to hunt.

The model is designed based on the analysis of more feedback and wishes of spearfishers from the most remote corners of the country who use TM Pelengas equipment without the possibility of routine maintenance in the service center. The following changes were made to the design and equipment.

1. To increase the autonomy of the hunter completely changed muffler. Now the vacuum cuff can be changed when needed without removing the three-fingered winter gloves.

2. An inner centering ring was added which prevents the cuff from being scuffed by the harpoon shank when loading.

A centering cone was added to the aluminum part of the muzzle to improve the tightness of the vacuum collar.

4. In the back part of the muffler there are slits for a wrench, for possible self-disassembly after a long period of operation (which implies the probability of sticking of the sealed parts and mechanisms). Key included.

5. The top of the receiver has a light (contrast) coating to improve sighting qualities.

6. There is a spare vacuum collar in the back plug that covers the threads and stash valve."
