I use ⅝ in bands on my gun it is 55" long and shoots very accurately to 5 meters. We returned to Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur Sept and will be here until at least the end of May. I must qualify my statement on the accucracy of my gun while it is accurate at a distance of 5 meters you better be a lot closer than that because fish are not stationary. Not to mention the sound and the shock wave sent out by the gun which takes about 4 tenth of second to cover that distance. Any fish smaller than a meter can do a matrix dodge and slip away. So yes my gun is as accurate as anyones but the hunter must usually less than three meters away if you want to keep what you kill (Chronicles of Riddick). Point is I am back in town and if anyone is looking to do so fishing I am interested in so sort of fishing adventure. I have extra guns by the way:) I live the dream fish every day the ocean will permit and sleep when it won't. I just got a new boat will post a picture soon. [picture on me in front of our house]

Nickmal what size shaft do you use 6.5mm or 7mm? Your gun looks like about 90cm or 1oocm. I will be living the dream also in 3 more years. We just finished our house there but I have a short walk to the beach. I have a spot I like to dive its a 20 minute drive from the house so I just throw my gear in the car and off I go. If I go scuba then I rent a boat to take me out to some great dive spots. I know the dive master there and he goes with me.

Hi

Can you recommend islands or even specific places for a spearo in Filippines? I would prefer non touristic, yet easily reachable islands with a rooms or huts available for rent. Fishing spots with shore entry or cheap boat rentals would B great.
