Problems with SpecialFins!

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Here is Karmo's reply to my mail:

Thank you for that all information and I am very sorry that you don't receive answer jet.
I am very happy that you Kars van Kouwen promote my company products and I am very thankful.
This year I had problems with my healt and I was out of work unfortunately, it is long story and my English is not good.
Radziah Radzi monofin is ready but I must clue there only the wings and then I can ship it off immediately.
I believe that I can send Radziah monofin parcel off beginning of next week when I am back in work.

This year was not good to me and I am not happy with my service but I am still optimist and I promise that all my customers all owed the world get his goods.
SpecialFins is my family company and I make fins since 1991 and I wish to make fins in future to and it is the reason why all my customers must be happy.
I do my best to make customers happy but we all have better days and not so good days.

Best regards and have nice Christmas time.

PS: Radziah Radzi, I will send you ASAP the parcel number, don't worry, everything is is control and you can soon swim with your new monofin.​

In a second mail he explains his situation in more detail, which strikes me a totally honest and genuine. The very personal things I'll not post it here, unless Karmo wants it to be posted. What I can say that Karmo has a some health problems due to some past glues. He also gets 30-100 emails a day, so is working as hard as he can, and catching up emails on days of less fin production.

With a positive expectation I'm awaiting to hear from Radziah to report to us on getting the parcel number, her fin, and her user experience of the fin.

Firstly, can't never thank you enough about what you have done to resolve my worries. Now, I can tell you that I am not worried as Karmo has assure me that my fin is underway. So, thank you so much for the initiative. I'm very happy to get respond from Karmo. :happy::happy::happy:

I'm sorry and sad to hear about his health and job that come into the way for his business. I sincerely hope he will recover soon.

However, like in the email I replied to him, the slowness doesn't matter much (although if it takes 1 year to arrive, that will be something to get anxious about) but being not in the know - what happened, is my fin going to come, is he making my fin or not, is what made people anxious, especially departing with a good deal of $$$:greedy: + the fact that the seller is in a far away country. I know for some people that's not so much money but for me it is. The only simple way that can be done to rectify this problem is to respond, communicate to customers by replying the inquiry email. That's all. I've already tell that to Karmo in the email.

Nevertheless, now we all know what is going on and all is fine. I have no problem to wait and will update here of the news of my fins when it delivers. I am also having a positive expectation.

Again, thank you so much Kars, you helped so much I can't thank you enough!! God bless you and wish you all the good and happy things always seek you :shame:.

Hello everybody,

I would like to convey the good news to everybody here, who may have wonder about Specialfins, especially after I raises the issue of not responding to email - that Karmo from Specialfins has send me my parcel number last night, in which the monofin was delivered on 8 January 2015 11.15 Estonian time. :D:D:D:D . Now, I have to wait for it to arrive and train my patience waiting for the mail :LOL::giggle::giggle::giggle:.

Specialfins also send me some freebies like extra sticker of my name and flag and also a monofin bag, as an apology for the delay. He was very sorry for the delay. Please note, as related by Kars earlier in this thread that Specialfins owner, Karmo has some issues with his health and it is affecting his business. His gesture of making things right moved me to a point of regret of pestering too much about the order. I found out from Kars that it can take up to 7 months for a monofin (from a different brand) to arrive to us upon ordering, thus, I feel regret for my impatience.

However, the biggest star(y)(y)(y)(y) in this for me is actually Mr. Kars who goes out of his way to help a stranger over the internet. I would like to convey my biggest gratitude to Kars who go extra miles by initiating the communication with Specialfins. I don't think that I will get this good news this early have Kars not make the effort of contacting Specialfins and get Karmo to be in touch with me. So thank you very mch!

So, I hope now everybody get to see the positive development about Specialfins and thus can make good judgement for your future purchase. I have no experience in Specialfins products yet but some freediver friends nearby me uses them and gave good reviews about the products - bifins and monofins. Even a mermaid friend install monofin by Specialfins in the mermaid tail as she is very satisfied with it.

It is with regret that I must admit that my purpose for joining this forum is a problem with fins ordered from Special Fins.

I am the mother of 2 boys, currently university students in South Africa, who swum competitively, compete in underwater hockey and do creational diving.

I ordered a pair of underwater hockey fins from Special Fins – payment made on 21 January 2015. Karmo confirmed that payment was received and the fins are being made in an e-mail dated 26 January 2015.

My son will be competing in the underwater hockey National Championships from 19 to 21 March 2015 and we thought that the fins would have arrived in time for this event.

All subsequent e-mails to enquire about progress and a potential shipping date have not been answered.

Several phone calls to the number provided on the Invoice were not answered.

Out of sheer desperation of not being able to establish contact with Karmo, I started to search the internet and stumbled onto this forum where I read about Karmo’s poor health during December 2014.

Although I sympathise with his health problems, I have been waiting patiently for 7 weeks without any reply from him. What do I do now?

How do I know if Karmo is in good health and working on orders for which payment were made?

How do I know when the fins will be completed? The order indicated that it will be shipped within 15 days upon payment made.

Am I silly for being worried?

Kars, is it possible that you can possibly assist me?? Or can any other agent for Special Fins possibly establish contact with Karmo??

My order No is 6460.

Like Radziah Radzi in the above posts, I just want to have some sort of answer from Karmo.

Be relaxed, Karmo will deliver, but I don't know if it will be before the 19th.

I'm merely passing on communication, in a polite, clear and constructive way, while recognising the good Karno is doing. It's Karmo that makes Specialfins run.
I just want divers to have a good experience, and wish both consumer and producers the best.

Hi Scientist, I'm sorry for late reply. I am glad you finally got your tracking number, I hope it can arrive in time for your son's National Championships . It is 17th March today, has it arrive? Mine take almost 1 month to arrive, but then, I live in Malaysia, and Estonia and Malaysia is pretty far. Mine was sent on 8 January 2015 and arrived 4 February 2015.

I'm sorry to hear about other people having the same predicament as I did. I really hope Karmo will improve on this very soon because his workmanship is fine, I am very satisfied with my fin. But I hesitated recommending this to my friend now due to this problem. I leave to them to make decision. Nevertheless, hope your son enjoy the fins and good luck in the Championships !

Good Wishes to Specialfins for making good customer service. Salute Kars! If I needed a fin I would not hesitate to order from Specialfins. Kars, send my good wishes to Karmo. If ever I can help promote his products I certainly will. Free divers are a community of humans - I am proud of how Karmo has handled this.
