Exactly I think that in this case it would not be very easy to define it clearly without letting any loopholes while not harming the use of currently used equipment. I am afraid that the rule would need permanent updates. But if there is some good bulletproof proposal, I will not oppose it.

Restrictions regarding suits in DNF

Regarding suits in dynamic diciplines:
"The suit, including insertions may mot exceed 5mm in thickness. The athlete may only use insertions to adjust buyoancy"
I think this is fairly simple and we can continue with our most used equipment. We can use all the swimskins, triathlonsuits, two-piece suits up to 2,5mm. Also...when athletes with minimal bodyfat use swimskins they need some extra buoyancy in their legs, and this rule gives you the opportunity to use small insertions.

Pretty similar to the requirements for wetsuits in triathlons then.
Having personally tried using a 5mm suit, then a thinner suit but with a vest, etc I found the whole thing to be problematic due to balancing buoyancy. For one, the neoprene on the arms means that gliding with your arms above your head is very different in balance to gliding arms by the side. I found that this in addition to the excess warmth completely cancelled out any momentum improvement. There are a few more reasons, but basically a thin suit or a speedsuit with inserts in the legs is what I personally go for.

This would still allow you to build a neckweight with low specific weight material, which could be rather huge, and very massive, while only with the needed negative buoyancy, and improving your hydrodynamics. So such rule is not sufficient and not bulletproof. You also need to ban neckweights, or limit their maximal weight, or their specific weight, or shape. Same for fins, mask, or any other equipment that can be artificially blown up with excessive mass while keeping neutral buoyancy. And you will also have to require gastric lavage, and anal inspections, because competitors could swallow or insert capsules increasing their weight excessively (while keeping neutral buoyancy). And you will have to define the maximal permissible body fat, since otherwise you risk obese freedivers will take over the sport - it is easy for them to compensate the body fat with huge weight without the need to resort to wetsuit inserts.

should be the other way around, it is well documented that cold water strengthens the dive response, so in reality points should be taken off for the cold waters of Denmark/NORWAY/ Sweden as they have an unfair advantage! hahahaha
just ask Eric F and Seb Murat they';; tellyou the cold is good.....
as for me... i HATE the cold i dotn care how good it is for my DR hahahaha

my definition of a pure competition would be:
- No Marks on the line as guides
- No facial equipment
- no arteficial propulsion of any kind
- minimal swimsuit (Briefs for men, Basic 1 pc or bikini for women (prefer bikini!))
- Basic lanyard only for safety.
its truely a PURE dive between 2 humans, no technology nothing.
would be a great comp for travel (very little gear to take with you!)

- minimal swimsuit (Briefs for men, Basic 1 pc or bikini for women (prefer bikini!))
- Basic lanyard only for safety.
