Why are you changing the handle?

If it is the aluminium version, you could probably be able cut it down, it is just a continuous extrusions, at least mine was. The spear might be a little long afterwards.

However, the classic trick for freeing tight metal rings/tubes is the warm them up so they expand faster than what is inside them. In this case, I would suggest using hotwater (also good for dissolving salt) instead of a flow torch ;)

You might want to contact Rob Allen/Jeremy Spencer at the Dive Factory in Natal, South Africa to see what they suggest.

BTW Isn't the muzzle held into the barrel with a plastic dowel/rod that needs to be pushed out? I recall that is how the trigger mech. is held in the Vectra handle. - The Worlds Largest Community Dedicated To Freediving, Scuba Diving and Spearfishing
