Scallop Freediving

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Fantastic video and great vis...Well done...

Your bottom is really clean and sandy compared to ours, which is covered with more life and growth - guess we could all do with a decent scrub off with a good rip tide or Andrex!!! :)
 
Nope, no season over here Mucko. No tape measure either. The limit here is 10cm across and I find at that size there isn't much in them anyway so don't take anything anywhere near it, so don't need a measure. None of those are less than 12cm.

Yeh, the tide does help clean it up flyflicker but it just depends where you are really, you can find any type of bottom at some point round the coast.
 
Great video magpie and some NICE scallops, well done.
Like Flyflicker said we get ours on a much weedier seabed and you can bet your bottom dollar that the best one is always right in the middle of the weed.
Fair play for cooking them and I do like the sound of the butter, garlic and chili but just try a bit raw you never know you might be surprised.
Either way I hope you enjoy your feast.:)
