Alastair I don't think I will be diving much while there is still bass around to catch rod n line. They were around well into February last year. You could come and fish for the boat on a nice day which is rare this time of year. 2 people in my small boat don't fish well when its rough and I am 10 miles off shore for the day. The big Pollack will of moved in now to the inshore reefs where I normally shore dive and I have had reports of large cod in the gill nets which are set in close for bass.

Thanks Nick I had a beer and thought I'd be cheeky! Any day is good for me, even if you just want some crew I love the fresh air and being at sea... Hence the job!

Just heard the cod are in down at Padstow too but the bass are not coming up the estuary much any more.

Just hoping for some viz for a night shore dive over the festive break! I don't hold out much hope!

What job do you do?

I cant see a break in the weather for a while yet and when it do ease up it will take a few days for it to clear up.

Plenty of bass in around Plymouth and up the estuary after the herrings at the moment.

Hi Guys, I'm moving from the cold NE to Paignton area in Feb/March and am a mad keen spearo so would be super keen to hook up and go shoot! Are there any local meets/clubs or just anyone who is happy to go spear local or further afield..
