Looking to dive around the yealm sort of way. Any tips on locations where to go? My uncle used to shore fish at mothecombe but I'm not sure if its any good for spearing? I'm aware there is a reef there but me and the people I go with can only stay under for about 30 seconds at the mo so has to be fairly shallow.

Should be able to head up the weekend but obviously don't wanna make the trip if the vis is crap.

Ive taken crab sandwiches to work for the past three days, I've had two lobster salads, a thermidor, and today, I have a lobster baguette for lunch. I'm happy to see the bowl empty.

Hi Chris since you are an expert on Lobbies I thought I would ask you something I have been wondering about. How do you store lobster that you can't cook or eat straight away. Do you freeze it live to cook later or cook it and then freeze the cooked meat?

I normally cook the lobster/crab, remove the meat, and then freeze what I don't use after a couple of days. I use thick freezer bags or plastic takeaway containers. It keeps quite well for a few months.

Hi all this is my first post. I'm from Exeter and I'm looking to dive with other spearos and find other places to fish. This is my third year spearing (only got 6Lb spider so far this year) I now have a small rib, not big enough to go far but good enough to get around and fish from. If any one is interested in meeting up anytime let me know. I hope to go out Saturday morning. Good luck to any one going in Vis must be improving.

Went out last night in the Bigbury Bay area, great viz, hard to say how far but as far as my torch could throw light... Probably similar to whats been reported earlier near by (15m +). Flat calm although an off shore did start to build as I got out around midnight but nothing to worry about (viz wise). Unfortunatly no silvers seen. Did come home with a Plaice though. Still, all good for building confidence and practising technique at night.

and me! I could have some of that vis please...

Was in again today , S. Hams way excellent vis, warm water , great weather ... but no silver fish at all ....came home with a 4lb lobster though ! I have been in a fair bit recently but I think I will give it a miss for a while now as there really is no fishy action ,( except for the night divers )

Good viz last few days south hams, been in every day/night this week.

Slow at the start of the week but a good finish today with a plaice and 3 good bass, missed 4 yesterday due to pain in my ears and rushing... Freezer now worth turning on!

Most of the male spiders seem to have been snaffled near me, having to head out a lot deeper to find good ones.

Also saw my first big shoal of bass today, easily 50+, all around 2-4lb. Took a good one and they kept coming back but only small ones in range, kept biding my time and then hey were spooked by a load of kayakers.... GUTTED!
