Well done on getting a nice mixed bag for a meal ( shame you had to leave Devon to do it !! lol ) I have seen John Dory's a few times but thought that there appears to be so little meat on them I am happy just to watch them .... Might be heading Cornwall way myself soon ...

Went for a dive at a new location today, really good vis, no swell either. Shot a decent pollock, a mullet and a plaice. Was looking like it would be a successful dive, however towards the end of the session a massive bass about the length of my arm comes into view as I'm reloading my gun... Just typical isn't it :banghead:

The new South Hams spot I tried a couple of weeks ago was a great location although not much about. Saw a couple of gurnard for the first time which was nice to see something different.

Dived Torquay yesterday morning with poor vis but at least saw a few decent mullet about, but nothing taken.

Interesting comments about Hopes Nose, I have a professional link to looking into some of these issues so would ask anyone concerned over activity there to PM me with any specific information. No names etc need be given, just would be helpful to better understand the dynamics down there.

Great to read the dive reports above, seems more about?!!

Hey guys, recently moved back to Devon and living in South hams, would like to pick up the spearing against of any one wants a buddy then give me a shout on here or add me on FB under "onre James"

Hello chaps, lurker here...

I've got a baby and wife in tow when I head down at the weekends now. So the more adventurous shore dives are off the list, I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for a nice pretty quiet location with a tea shop (Ansteys has been the go to, but the fishing is pretty crappy) that'll please us all? Don't mind where our respective folks are in Totnes and Exeter so most places are reachable.

Thanks in advance!

Hi all, anyone found vis, any reports would be welcome. I havent been in for weeks ! work getting in the way.

Not sure if everyone is aware but the MLS for Bass rises to 42cm (from 36 cm ) next month !

And about bloody time too. How anybody thought it would be sustainable to have a MLS smaller than the size of sexual maturity baffles me! It's the same for lots of fish. Could this be the reason for depleted fish stocks by any chance?

Got in today , a lot more swell / chop than I was expecting ,which resulted in very poor vis 1-2 metres fish about , but no chance to line up a shot as they were in and out of vision so quickly !!
