South Devon report 2007

Paul were did you look?, i started of at ansteys cove with 2/3 meter viz, but half way to hopes nose it cleared right up, in close. But yes past 8 meters deep the plankton gets thick and the viz drops.
I'm probably exaggerating the above 5 meter viz .

Dived the same spot as yesterday, only two mullet. I needed the tide to be rising but it was dropping. viz was a lot worse only 2/3 meters. Also there were some big squid there today (not cuttle's).

Afternoon all, i was wondering if you guys could reccommend any spots that might be worth a look in on a South Westerly breeze around the Plymouth area?

I got in the water on friday night at Bovisands and the vis was horrendous, couldnt even see the end of my gun.

All this waiting around for good weather and vis is doing my nut in!

Fancied a change, so I tried Watcombe today. I was surprised by how much swell there was and the sea close in looked like soup, but I had driven for over an hour and done the big hike down the hill so I gave it a go. Vis at first was terrible but I found a spot where it was up to 3m or so. A couple of small pollack appeared then a big shoal of mullet cruised by just out of range. I was beginning to get hopeful, but then the effect of the swell suddenly began to cut in and seasickness ended my session :crutch

Anyone know of any secluded spots within fairly close driving range of exeter that me and a few boys could go to this weekend? Preferably somewhere where we could mix a bit of beach rod fishing with some spearing?

HI when were you thinking of your boys weekend? ladrum bay is a good spot for fishing and diving and they have a camp site on the beach i live local its a good dive when the waters clear and the fish are in if i can help let me know DAVE OC (EXETER SPEARFISHING CLUB)
