read all that stuff now on getting started and after a few chats on other threads going to get myself a commanche 75 speargun.
I can't wait to get going reading what you gears are up to gives me goose bumps. i've also managed to hook up with a couple of people round here who spear too.
Tribs thanks for the info on the boat, i'm sure it's a bit trial and error with what to take out and depends on what boat you've got. i just ordered a bic 245, was going to get a malibu 2 sit on tandem kayak but figured i'd get more use out of the little dinghy. i'm so excited! once i get all my stuff and worked out how to use it i'll be heading down to south devon, as i've family in torquay, and wouldn't mind a few pointers on where to go if that's ok.

Hi All,I'm New to the forum and spearing, but have been having a good week- which makes a change- 3 bass 5 mullet 1 pollock, in three outings. Algae just beginning to clear but still pretty bad vis for the time of year.And where are the fish?
Lost Omer Excalibur 2000 90cm black gun with red line, off Sidmouth today.Was trying out new Dive hunter and had been so diligent bout tying it down but got distracted by immense spider crab and got claws, small compensation though.Was loaded with safety catch on too If found PLEASE LET ME KNOW.Looked for bout hour and went back low tide too. You all are aware of how difficult it is to catch fish with your mouth! And I don't expect there are too many Seals amongst us!

A little help. My mate wants to take up spearfishing but can't fit into a size 6 Cressi and doesn't want to pay out the £300 quoted from Elios for a MTM. Any ideas on large suits at working man prices and where?

Welcome to Deeper Blue Boogabund, tis a bad day when you lose yer gun mate and I know as I lost my 60cm flatie gun back in the winter.
As for Seals, read a few of Shiny1’s posts, he’s part seal, part fish and all round voodoo master, can’t take his cider:friday:friday though (Nick remember the orange stuff at the campsite pub)

Just back from the LLyn Peninsula wher my lad was sailing. went in at low tide on saturday and fed the family with scallops. Then in again sunday on the top of the tide for an hour. ate the plaice for lunch but the rest are in the freezer.
Gin clear water even in the shallows. no sign of algae at all.
back up there for a week in august and looking fwd to it

I have that on my Yamaha 8 HP which is great when carting it home late at night from the beach and flushing through. The neighbours appreciate the quiet method:inlove. My Mariner on the other hand is old style run-in-the-bucket and at past midnight they get it full bore flushing styleeee!!!:t

you can get them from decathlon online but either special order via lakeside (london) or a quick trip to roscoff/st malo to try one on.
the website says 43quid per piece for a 6mm suit so reasonable as a starter

Back from Norway with only Flounder as my speared fish. I only managed one dive. I saw lots of pollack but all small, lots of huge wrasse, lots of shell fish and brown crab. It was in a Fjord so maybe thats why there wasnt any bigger Pollack. It was cool to have a go and it was great catching lots of fresh Mackerell for the bbq on the spinning rod.

Got to be better than nappies and the spare room!!!!!!! Only joking, my boy wonder is amazing. Will have him spearing in no time.
No, in all seriousness, i'd seen Podge's posts about going travelling further a field and, as I used to be a Plymouth boy, thought I may ask the boys if they fancied a dive around Plymouth/cornwall if I could find an expert local guide.
