havent posted lately been out a couple of times biggest bass was 3.5lb and biggest mullet was 6.9lb heres a video not very good quality seem to be having a real problem with the go pro not the best for quality

Hi All,

Had a meeting cancelled earlier so literally ran to my car and home!!! Got in and found viz upto 3m in places but not one silver fish seen in two hours. Had to get out for fear of the dreaded parking meter but I reckon another hour and success rate would have been better.

I had a late morning dive down at "Spot C" today. A little swell was coming in, and about 4m viz. Water temp was showing 16 deg. I got into the stringweed beds and started seeing fairly decent bass straight away. I took three nice ones, and then swam over to some sandy patches to look for flatties but there were none around. On the swim back in I got a mullet of about 4lb, and a cuttlefish.

Dan - get rid of that Go-Pro, the quality is shocking! Sounds like you had a few fish but I couldn't see them! Thanks for sharing though.

been out today rough seas but managed 6 bass and 2 mullet

wat cameras do people think are good quality with the go pro unless its gin clear vis they just dont work

Viz was up to 5m on your doorstep yesterday

I went back to "Spot C" today after yesterdays fine catch, and it didn't dissapoint. I got to the reef on a lower tide than I would have liked, but the bass were still there, all in the stringweed. Viz was better today, at about 5m. Even got a crab for lunch tomorrow.

Hi All,

Out tonight and came home with two nice greys but should've had a huge one but seemed to miss at point blank range. I could not believe it! Had the best bass of the year rip off the spear too after doing the loop the loop routine on me! He came in fast and I got him over my shoulder arching back so I guess that the shot wasn't in the gill plate where I find they hold best. Still, I learnt that it is possible to swear underwater and quite loudly at that!!!!!!!!

May try tomorrow - The mother in law is here for the weekend - cue all those jokes!!1

Hey,

In today and the forecasters got it wrong. Was expecting a NW 5-6mph and got in to only have to get out after an hour in a SSW force 4!! Note to self - cross reference sources to keep safe! Nothing seen but did surf a 4ft wave on my divehunter on the way in - awesome ride, it took me nearly 40ft in with no effort.

Does anyone rate 'Magic Seaweed' for wind/tide info?

Like David I use XC weather for wind info. I've never trusted tragic seaweed, it always seem to come up with rather optimistic surf forecasts!rofl

I found this on the forum a couple of days ago: divegenie.com

No idea how accurate it is! I would be interested to hear what other people think of it though.
