I had one of those days today when it seems to go right. I had a mixed bag of Bass,Pollack,Mullet and a single Gilthead Bream.
I shot one bass that was motionless in mid water with what looked like his guts hanging out of his gills. When i got close enough for a shot i could see it was a Lamprey of about 350mm hanging on,his head was inside the gill plates. He soon let got when i shot the bass and lifted him out of the water on the spear. They things give me the creeps. I had 2 mullet with one shot just after that. It wasnt a accident,i lined the two up and had the pair. My aim today was a big pollack and on the first big gully i drop down right behind one. He seen me and started moving away,i drifted down behing him until close enough for a shot. He turned out to be a nice 8lb7oz Pollack. A little further on i did the same again. I drop down on another big Pollack in the kelp,he was just in range when i noticed a big silver head about 4m on from him. A couple of gentle kicks with the fins to glide down that bit further and i was in range of what i could now see was a Gilthead Bream,he seen me coming towards him and was moving away slowly. I had to shot down across the top of him,not a side on shot i would of liked. He turned out to be 4lb1oz. I did come down on top of another big pollack but just when i was going to pull he was gone with the flick of his tail. The sun was out by now and with a good catch in the Igloo ice box it was off home. A great mornings diving.

I cant enter the Plaice in the flatfish comp if i enter the Gilthead in OMDFOM.
Podge i have more than one pair of flipflops,the red ones are well travelled,Mozambique,Andamans,Tanzania, Indonesia and a lot of Devon and Cornwall.
In 2008 on June 9 i had a 5lb1oz Gilthead,in 2009 June 9 i had a 4lb6oz gilthead,none last year on the 9 June but this year a day out the 10 i had this one. Strange to get them all on or near the same date.

Im pretty sure they seperate comps Nick, need to check with Foxfish but sure you can still enter the Bream in FOM

Yes, the flatfish only has to be shown so there is a record of it, it doesn't have to be the fish chosen to be your entry to qualify for the flatfish comp'.
By the way Nick while I'm sorting out May's trophy shall I just put all the months on one plaque, then you can cross out the ones you DON'T win.

Seriously mate that’s some top spearing your on at the moment, top marks.
Bish needs a alarm clock.I told him 4.30am this morning down at the harbour. I was there for 4am boat loaded and ready to go,4.40am no Bish. Tide waits for no man so off i went on my own. Could of done with a dive buddy today. He's on the transfer market.
