I went in last week Pembroke, near the place I saw you last. Did not manage to many dives as I was with mygirlfriend. It was unbelievably cold so I think I will start getting in again in early April!

Tasty mate - I want to get my kayak in some form of manly camo colour - gf says it has to be hi-viz so that I can be spotted when I get lost at sea... hmmm... If I could get a toxic pink one I would, seriously, but at this rate I'm going to end up with something Yellow that has the appearence of a giant banana!

As for dbells on the paddles, sod that, waste of energy! I'm going to attach some trawling booms and stick fook off massive net off the back - I don't often get down to the coast so bugger it, I'm going to get my money's worth!!!!

Got in today for a few hours in very cloudy visibilty but nonetheless, a very enjoyable early season dive. At 10m+ the viz increased to 3m but getting to the bottom was like swimming through hot chocolate. Still a very chilly 5 degrees on the bottom which, I guess, is the reason the kelp has not even started to grow back yet? Only saw a tiny shoal of XYZ.

Maybe getting in next weekend for a few days but then again, I cant really see a fish being caught until the sea temp picks up a few more degrees grr!

On a different note: I glued my new Spierre blades into the fps a few months ago but the blade has started to come away from the fp in the below the heel...I used Sikalfex but I was going to just Loctite the blade in and hope it holds... Anyone had any experience with a lossening blade?

On a different note: I glued my new Spierre blades into the fps a few months ago but the blade has started to come away from the fp in the below the heel...I used Sikalfex but I was going to just Loctite the blade in and hope it holds... Anyone had any experience with a lossening blade?

I had a blade come out after 2 sessions when using sikaflex as glue. I cleaned the sikaflex from both blades and pockets then glued with loctite 406 and they're fine after more than a year of heavy use.
When gluing with loctite, clean and roughen the areas to be glued with very fine sandpaper. I used wet and dry. Clean off the dust very well before gluing. I think I used acetone for this or it may have been MEK. There should be a thread on the subject somewhere.

went out today, fair vis, not one fish to be seen and i lasted for 3 hours, after that my extremities were frozen beyound belief, mind i'll try later in the week

I went fishing in the tropical 30 degree amusement arcades at Barry Island last night. Viz was fairly good as we could see Devon across the water about 10 miles away but only managed 1 fish, an inch long Alota-chav-icus (This took ~£5 worth of 2 penny pieces to win!?). Just need to get a paper before entering it in the FoM!

Got in for the first time this year, light winds blue sky water about 8.5 celsius viz 3.5m 4m at its best.

Couldnt find any fish for the first two hours no life on the bottom at all even in the kelp beds.

Rounded a point on the turn of the tide and a shoal of mullet swam past me on the surface, got a shot off but the fish twisted off the spear :head. Not long after that I came across a shoal of sand eel and nothing after that. There is life out there just not a lot of it in the shallows at the moment.

went out yesterday more on a recce of a spot i have fancied, did'nt see a thing, i stayed in for 2 hours with no probs ( cold wise ) so there is mullet about i shall go again this week

At 8-10 degress, there's little point in all honesty....needs to be well north of 10 in my experience. We're a good month behind where we should be....lets hope this weather continues and we catch up.

hi all
went out yesterday and came across shoals of silver grey mullet, i managed to bag two, and christened my 100cm gun. i'm sure there were a couple of small shoals of bass, vis was dodgy in places. so i'm out again tomorrow if she who must be obeyed allows me to lol

wetsuit thickness, i have a 5mm, but finding the water cold ( age ), anyone using a 6/7mm suit and is it more restrictive
