Looks good! Never thought about recessing the bands into the gun at the bottom! What size spear? Would a single 16 of a gun this length be ok to push 7mm you think ?

Thank you. It is a 7mm diameter 950mm long spear and 16mm bands are just right.
As Jegwan says, have a play around with the band stress and you find the best one for you needs.

Cool, because I really don't think I can stomach the thought of another gun with 20mm rubbers. My chest hurts just thinking about it lol. 16mm are so nice to load

Making significant progress last night and today driving the neighbours crazy with the sound of a router lol.

Mech and handle pocket cut, pushrod track cut, spear track cut, started to shape.

Not sure on the bands yet. I'm procrastinating if I'm going to use these bolt on rollers or not lol. I wanna do a roller gun cos I'm a big girl and hate loading 20mm bands lol

45 wide x 40mm tall.

These are the rollers that I bought. Trying to figure out a way I can use em without making it look bodgey

Ah ok. Mine is 35mm tall, must just be the angle that makes the gun look so thick. Your progress is great, I havent gotten that far yet! Well done.

Thanks man. Yeah, I'm just going to use a pre made handle on this one... Try not and burn the timber with the router like I did. It's a pita to sand off.

Muzzle done, geez I'm so not used to hardwood. Sanding sanding and sand some more.

I think ill use the neptonics rollers, I was thinking of insetting them but I won't so I've got the option to cut a band hole later.

Does anyone know if you can use 16's with em? They seem a bit small.

Made up some little hooks for the rubbers to hook into under the gun today... Should look good when they are painted.

Got the handle, rollers and ground down the pushrod and pins to length.
Starting to resemble a gun!

So builds going well, one thing though has anyone been able to epoxy stainless pins into a timber stock to hold the bottom band? Obviously I'd put then in at an angle.

Thanks mate. yeah I am going to build some more much to the dislike of my wifey, bit she'll get over it lol. The hardest thing for me is trying to find something imaginative and also practical. I didn't want to go over the top on the first build because I've never even tried a timber gun yet.

Good news if you are going to build more then
You do need a bit of confidence to start making more radicle designs but it is not the end of the world if you don't get it right first time
The hardware like triggers, spears etc. will always be re usable should you not be happy with the woodwork.
A good next step would be to use more laminates 6 perhaps & two different woods or a lighter wood & a coloured glue.
Only ideas of course as every one has different views of what looks cool.
