Spearing/clarity report 2011

It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Ended up going to Lawrence Lake in Marquette County. Not sure of the water temp as I did not have my watch. But the vis was approximately 10feet. Saw plenty of panfish, bass and a few Northern. The panfish in this lake are fairly healthy. I only ended up shooting 2, but missed several. I have new bands on my gun and was shooting high. I saw a few bluegills that would push 9-10". I've "HEARD" that there are bluegills in there around 12" or so, but I believe these to be "fish stories".

This is the lake that got it all started for me. Tass and I saw some carp so big, our arrows would not break through the scales. That and they were deeper than normal. I've been wanting to go back to this lake when the vis is decent enough to shoot. Today was, but we didn't see any carp. I'm hoping to go back again SOON and get a better look at these monster carp. I'm praying my speargun is strong enough to go through them.

Sorry no pics this time. Will try to remember my camera next time.

Thinking of trying blackhawk in two weeks. How have the waters in genereal been doing, getting clearer staying bad??
Any one interested in going?

My weekends are pretty full till the end of the year. But the lakes are clearing up and looking better and better. have at it!

How are the water temps? I don't have a wetsuit and was thinking about going one more time before ice up but didn't want to make a trip just to freeze.

Any one got any clarity info on Blackhawk lake by Cobb WI. I am planning on going Sat Oct 29 if anyone cares to go.

By the way, Where has everyone gone? I know I have not done much this summer but looking back on the history of the posts it seems as though there is no chatter about much of anything?

I got an email from him today- He is home. Sounds like he had a great time in Italy!

Tass and I did go diving/spearing on Wed 27 Oct, 2011. We went to Lawrence Lake up in Marquette county. The water was pretty chilly. Not sure what the temp was, but I would guess mid to upper 40's. Saw a couple small/tiny panfish and a few bass and northern. Nothing justifing diving in that cold of water. Not sure If I will get back in the water this year for SPEARFISHING - unless someone has vast knowledge of shootable fish being present.

A little update on the OUTLET. About a month ago, I went on a field trip to the capital with my daughter's school. When the tour guide was talking about how the powerplant near by was built to POWER the capital, I asked her if they were ever going to turn the stacks on. She said "No, those stacks were used when they were using COAL to power the plant. They have spent Millions on converting that powerplant to nautral gas." I was not happy with the news the sweet little old lady had just given me, so I punched her in the throat.

I'm kidding. I was disappointed and told her that we liked to use the lake for diving and the COAL Powerplant would shoot warm water into the lake during the winter time and it was great.

So, I think our winter days at THE OUTLET are over. I will forever be in search for something similar, But I do not have my hopes up.

I found some calm water on the western edge of Lake Mendota today and went for a dive. Water temps was 45F degrees and the vis was only about 4' or 5'. I didn't see a single fish and gave up after about an hour. I was warm the whole time, but just got bored after a while. I could post pictures, but there's not much to see but rocks and weeds.

Here's a few pictures from today. The wide angle lens makes everything seem much clearer than it actually was.

I have a beard to go with it- you just can't see it under the wetsuit hood.
Not doing porn, just getting ready for ski season.
