The north coast would be the only option on Sunday. The southerly winds have made the water brown as mud on this side and it's going to get worse. Low tide is 09:58 and high at 15:56, you don't want to be in there at any other time, the tidal current is fierce to say the least. You'll need a good pair of boots too to climb down the cliff.
Soon hopefully. The weather at the moment is really churning it up, I doubt it will clear by the weekend enough to be fishable. The Menai straights looked brown this evening too so I would say the whole island will be wrapped in bad vis by now

Even the vis in Dorry was bad. Until you got to about 12 metres then it cleared up.
The sea was flat calm on Monday hopefully it will sort the vis out a bit.
The bloom might ruin the vis for a bit longer too.
At least the water temp is up, 12-13 degrees on the surface what is the sea at the mo?

I've been in Cornwall last weekend and water temperature was about 11°C so I guess around north wales it should be lower, 9-10°C?

Started to get very excited about diving this weekend (despite the time of year etc). Hey if the weather stays like this for a few more days it has got to be good eh???? Fingers firmly crossed!

No Rob, I'm finding it difficult to find time for a bath at the moment. I really hope to get in this weekend if the weather stays anything like. It I do it means putting the trailer for the boat back another week but then this heat is driving me mad!
Took the plunge today with dj_bridges and his mate, had a great time with some new friends. The vis was way way better than I expected, maybe 4m -5m at times. Didn't see anything myself I don't think (may have seen a bass but it could equally have been a doggy). Dan saw some fish but that's his story not mine.
I tried my experimental baudrier again today too, last time I tried it I was very over weight and it was quite a rough day on my last dive of last year. Took a couple of kilo off my weight belt but it left me very foot buoyant and my legs kept floating upwards making me look like a scorpion rofl Will try a different set up next time
Also tried my new Riffe snorkel my missus bought me for Christmas, very pleased with it

I haven't seen them yet but i bet you could get a bluefin from about 30 metres away with it

Well just back into work (arghhh) after a great weekend on Anglesey. Arrived on fri eve and had a quick dive in Cable Bay, but there was nothing about and the viz was pretty poor. So we moved down the coast a bit. The viz opened up and I saw my first Bass of the season. Of course I only saw them right at the end of the session, when I had thought "ok just one more dive". Anyway to cut a long story short I committed the schoolboy error of deciding whether to take the shot on the smaller bass or try for the bigger bass. Ended up dithering and then had to rush the shot on the smaller one which I missed - doh!!!! We went in again on sat evening and this time we both saw fish. My mate is new to spearing, but has done plenty of snorkelling. We are unsure whether it was a bass or mullet, but either way I was well chuffed that he was seeing the (very few) fish!
Met up with Pastor on sunday morning and he showed us some 'fishier' spots. Within a few minutes of being in the water, 3 very nice apporx 5 lb mullet swam right up to the end of my gun, and true to form I hesitated again and ended up with nothing! Did see some Bass at the edge of visibility, but they stayed out there!
So you might say it was a very frustrating weekend, BUT it was beautiful sunny warm weather, the first dive of the year, we saw fish, and made new friends (great to meet you Pastor and thanks for the dive)! Unfortunately it will be my last Anglesey dive for some time (moving to Malawi next week), but will be back as soon as I can. Until then happy fishing to all the North Wales crew and looking forward to meeting the rest of you when I get back........
