Got in this morning before work. south side of llyn. Vis was poor from surface. about 2-3 M under the surface. 0.5M max swell.
Forgot to say. Got in near nefyn last night. Vis about 3M. Loving the lightening.

i got in last night after 9.30 near nefyn. got to the spot shone the torch on the water and saw a whopper of a bass (must of been around 10 pounds) swimming near the surface around 20 yards out. Got in and the vis was a bit poor, around 2-3m did see a bass in the first 5 mins but i missed that one. saw another one about ten mins later and got that one on the stinger. nothing special just over 2 pounds. nice for dinner tonight.
dont know where the beast went but vis was to poor.
Might get in tomorrow if the wind drops.

Oh yes.
Las night saw three Bass. first one about 2lbs got a shot of but missed. second one swam past the back of my head as I was looking out at the edge of the weed. again 2lbs ish. The thrird kept me awake. 7lbs+ (I'm under estamating to make my self feel beter) swam right under me in about a meter of water. As i turned slowly, it stoped to take a look at me. as my gun was coming round. I must have been a split second form shooting. flash!!! Bass gone. I did get two pollock at 1.5lbs so dinner sorted.
The Best start to a day
I got in about 6.45 to murk n swell. 6.50 2lb bass on the stringer. Ten minuts later another 2lb bass on the stringer. 7.20 third Bass on the stringer. this one was about 3lbs. 7.45 fourth Bass on the stringer. the smallest of the lot but still going on 2lbs. fish all scaled and gutted by 8.15. home for half past.
the worst way to finish a good sesion! RUSHING TO GET TO WORK FOR 9.

Will, I wish I'd seen that rig before I'd decided on having to fashion one myself. That said I'm more than happy with what I made its really well balanced in the water being almost over my hand

Got in sat vis was poor at the surface but 2-3 meter at the bottom. Wind was strong enough to mean i was swimming constantly to stop being dragged out by float, I was quite tired by the time I got out. No fish but a good explore.
Got in north llynn yesterday just after low tide vis was zip even on the bottom. You could see a great streak of cloud right the way up the coast but I thought I'd chance it anyway. Swam out past the cloud and it was still pretty poor. Continued along parallel to the shore line viz zip eventually getting out and walking back. Checked weather on windfinder app( this looks quite good btw) Decided to go get some lunch and se if it might clear as the tide came in, wind and swell dropped.
Got back in about an hour or 2 before high tide as the streak had gone. Vis was still poor at the surface but swimming out a little and diving blind repeatedly for a fair while I found some weed/kelp with just about 2 maybe 3 meters vis I made a note of reference points on the shore to try and stay put in the same area ( I like Bro's idea of a weight on the float for marking I might try this next time I'm out) saw small pollack and wrass only. Was starting to think about calling it a day when I was visited by a very welcome sight a bass just visible swimming across my 2 to 1 o'clock ( just over 2 pounds)

I'd considered staying over till today but took one look at the forecast and thought better of it. Looks shocking.
The weather has been pretty poor this year, but the years not over yet. Just need to stay positive and seize any opportunities that arise

I know as I am one of the gents who seized the opportunity to fish the NE last week
Even so, the NE has experienced the most appalling sea conditions for the majority of summer leading to more cancelled trips in a given season than I care to remember. Sadly, this 'summer' will be one to forget for the travelling Spearo community who live 3 hours plus from the coast.

Well done Manicflippy for getting in and keeping us all sane and Bassdestruction for getting in before work and getting lots of fish. hopefully down next weekend if i ever finish house projects.Hope the weather improves can it get worse ...no i shouldn`t of said that?....you can only get so wet ..cant you?....
Cheers Denian. It looks like non of us will be getting in any time soon. Strong Southerlys followed by strong Northerlys. WTF?? It's got to be bad I've been tempted to go fishing with an actuall rod and reel.

I got in on Sunday on the North LLyn, I was already in the area following a spot of quarry based freediving. I wish I hadn't bothered (again), bobbins vis, I saw one pollock big enough to take, but only just. I left it be in favour of the bigger fish that were going to come along, but sadly didn't.
Yep, it's going to blow all week, so expect more of the same next weekend. This really is getting very, very frustrating!!

It's absolutely killing me mate! I keep getting geared up for an epic session then having to cancel at the last minute - this weather is just a nightmare.
I think that the wind is chilling out a little bit at the weekend, if it calms down for a few more days, it could be ok mid-next week... although that's probably me just being massively optimistic. Damn I'm getting desparate..!
