only suggested atomics because its similar in design to the Mares Essence....
.....atomics okay for me at the moment but there are 3 size fitments- perhaps you didn't get the right size? I noticed slight distorted vision first time i used it but that was just my eyes adjusting i guess- dont see it now.
I also use mares x vision liquid skin and also have a super low volume cressi occhio plus

I recon looking at them is fine. I think mannerism and movement are more important.
When hunting in shallow weed, I've always tried not to behave like a predator. Moving slowly and never directly towards them. (Unless their looking away.) If I know theyve seen me. I try to head off at an angle with the gun tracking the fish until I'm in range. They normally try to get away by passing the gun. Boom.
I got in for a swim today vis was around 2-3m S Abersoch. An hour either side of HW. Had my boy with me so just practiced diving. Loads of bait fish but nothing bigger.

Ha yep they made me change it. I tried bass-turd they didn't like that one either. I wanted "weapon of bass destruction" look what I got. Tis a good job I'm a man without principles. rofl
What do you mean matey? The best thing to do with the GoPro? I'd say attach it to your speargun and get us some footage!
Every time I put my camera on the gun I see bugger all - it's shocking! I've managed to get one bass on film. A single 1lb bass and no, I let it swim peacefully by rofl

How do you mount your camera? Or anyone else with a gopro for that matter, I've use a slatted helmet mount to strap between trigger guard and stock on left side( right handed)but it's not ideal. I've seen people drilling mounts to their guns which I'd prefer to avoid tbh. (gun is mares phantom 95fv btw) would prefer something that can be easily removed and doesn't interfere with loading

Ive mounted my pentax w80 onto my mares phantom speed. (i think its the same) with the existing reel bolts. never liked the real so scraped it for a single wrap of Dyneema. any way the mount was perfect. A small stip of aluminium 1.5cm wide x 15 long and 2mm thick. lined up the holes put it on the gun and marked the aluminium with a line where i would need to bend it. then just found a bolt with a witworth thread to mount the camera to it, job done,
easy and removable.
I'd only use aluminium so easy to work and takes ages to corrode/oxadize.
its actually not much use now my camera didnt like the depth :waterwork

I use a bent bit of aluminium duct taped to the handle. Sounds retarded but actually is very simple to do and works really well. The only bothersome bit is having to drill a small hole to insert the camera screw thing in.
I just savaged an old tripod I found, pulled the screw bit out and put it through the alu. Looks rubbish, works great.

Bro, I don't think that would work for a Go Pro as you need quite a large surface area to fix the mount to, though I guess you could bolt on a "table top" area to do this.
I cut a sheet of galvanised plate, created rails along the long edges to strengthen it and then fastened it to the gun with a bracket off an old bike light. The problem with this is that it's quite heavy and so the gun wants to roll over a little (hence the foam on the bottom). I'd also mount the camera a little further back to prevent the bracket from pulling the muzzle down. The good thing with it is that it works well with the mount perpendicular to the bracket, so you can switch it between sides without screwing up the view from the camera. It works well, but I'd try to see if you can make an equivalent from a lighter material.
