If your looking for viz, you should try a little known spot called 'Next Week', I don't want to give it all away but you'll find it somewhere over the horizon. No-one's fished it yet but I heard that the viz will be better than any you find at your spots tomorrow

I'd love to look for Good 'vis' next week but it never comes or I can never make it so I'm going to look and try or was that look and cry!.....tomorrow eve and sat and sun so I will let you all know!lets hope for an Indian summer! Shall I go south side that may of been better but will now have wind waves smashing it up or north that might be out of wind but trashed from a week of swell?looking at the web cams all round its telling me I should stay at home !I could try my new fishing rod out again!

talking of webcams , i wonder how feasable it would be to set up an underwater streaming camera to check the viz from your sofa ! All you would need is a small webcam camera in a housing a lot of cable ,you could use a smartphone or tablet with a static IP address as the server sending the video on 3G hidden on land. Only down fall would be battery life. If we all chip in cost wouldnt be that much !!!!!

On that note, I was wondering if I could persuade the guy who does the abersoch weather site to include a line on likely viz. Both spearos and divers would prob find useful.
He does a very good job on the Abersoch.co.uk site so I suspect he might be up for monitoring levels and developing some patterns and predictions etc....

I'm considering traveling across V.early Sunday (only free day this w/e), i'm keen to exploit any remaining opportunities (free time) left this year before they all slip away into winter, so some reports on the conditions would really be appreciated

A vis webcam sounds awesome.

Conditions on the south side well Cricieth are 1- 2M and improving, Some 5s WSW tomorrow night might stop the vis from improving for a bit but looks good until Wednesday. Typical I can’t get in until after next week.

I'm a +1 on the viz cam - it's something I thought about last year.

The best bet would be to have the cable running directly to a modem & power source; the cost of armoured, waterproof cable, plus the bother of having to set it securely in place plus finding someone to let use use their modem / phone line etc etc...

In short, it wouldn't be cheap or easy! Which is a damn shame as it would be beyond epic. I wonder if we could get some dive clubs interested and share the costs...? Probably not going to happen...

I'm aiming to head down Wednesdayish as that should have given the water a bit of time to clear. Conditions are looking pretty good!

Until the vis cam is up and running. Scyc jetty webcam is pretty good for an idea of the vis.

Been diving the straits for past 3 seasons, it can be hairy at times and you def need to be with someone who knows the water, I am lucky as have been taught by an old pro commercial diver who now spends most of his life in the straits. Vis is very fickle and it's better on the high, slack is half tide. There are mullet aplenty and bass but not in huge numbers. Lots of fishing pressure and traffic is a real worry even with a diver buoy! Here's. Pic from weds.

it was suppriseingly good 1to 4m vis 2 sholes bass swam through me !missed first lot but got 1of one half lbs well made up as with new gun and float line crap vis n 3 foot waves and havent been out for weeks missed big mullet to !
