"starfins" hyper

My daughter received her hyperfin within about a week of sending the cash. We took it out today for it's maiden voyage. Bad vizibility due to thunderstorms and overcast - but we spent a couple hours and the fin is perfect! Here are a few pictures. Note the awesome black blade and cool new 'Starfins' logo - also an extremely nice fin bag - with blade protector and padding along the edges.

Our blades and pockets are tuned for recreational diving - so fairly soft blades and comfortable pockets - Claire did almost two hours first time out with her new fin. We left the blades up to Alex and he did a perfect job. Quality of these fins is rock solid - mine has quite a few miles on it - both open water and pool, with no wear other than scratches from Zebra Mussels.

sorry my friend, but we do this fin on same time with your fin ! Anyway carbon blade + 200euro need ! And you must to receive as soon very nice fin with good blade too, but carbon it`s carbon !!!:t

Mine arrived to sweden in just two days, but customs took it hostage for tree days after that, Alex made and shipped it under a week from payment, excellent service!

I took it to the pool yesterday, its a stiff fin as expected (i'm slim, 67kg), the footpockets are very comfortable using 3mm socks (i requested to be able to use socks).
The fin has a very nice "flow" when using correct technique and good response with a hard kick. Very good fin!

Took a quick pic with my phone, chose yellow blade for high visibility, and small rails to somewhat protect the edges.

Forgot to order one of those nice finbags tough..

of course we are doing simple monofins for trainings and for beginners !
For peoples without technical skills dolphin, I suggest our fin using waterway footpockets - his hardest to break into the first month of training! This paddle will be different assembly quality, durability, and an individual approach to client ! And we have simple fin with our handmade footpockets !
I can also offer a more interesting version of a simple fin - it is a small angle and the wings, which make it more interesting! Some swimmers use it for marathons and just for training!

Well Alex the fin trajectory I'm thinking of is to use a classic fin for training. Wait a year until she has developed her experience and a reasonable stroke. Now she's earned it, scrape the cash to buy a nice Hyperfin model.

But the custom footpocket with the small angle sounds interesting, though the budget is more geared towards the 'classic model' which I think should still be around E 140. But if the fin with a small angle is just say 20 - 30 euro more it will be attractive to go with that model than.

How big is the small angle?
What's the price difference?

The Fins you show look very nice.
I've one suggestion for U help us freedivers. Since we often train during public hours amongst normal swimmers we need to be very careful not to cut or decapitate another unaware swimmers. Pool staff seems to be worried about that too. Maybe you can glue a rubber bumper strip (not a full wing) on the side edges of your 'classic' fins?

Is the rubber soft? Because I don´t like the rubber of WW Glidefins, it is to soft and the footpocket bends...

I could be wrong - but I think that is part of how hyperfins are supposed to work.

Yes there is always a little bending in the footpockets but not that much...I could really feel that there is some energy getting lost.

Alex will probably answer better than me - but if the pocket is too loose - or the blade too soft - then you will see that problem. Waterway has a very good reputation.

My starfins is soft - for recreational diving - I have yet to order a depth fin so I cannot say.

Some fellow members (who owns medium and hard ww glidefins) in my apneaclub tested my starfin and said the fin was harder than theirs, but at the same time several people have noted that the footpockets are softer and more comfortable in starfins.

In my discussion with Alex from starfins about my fin we discussed using black rubber for the footpockets.
Since i wanted a medium-fin, Alex advised against this since the black rubber was harder and often just used in sprint-fins.

So something of a sprint-fin is maybe what you are looking for?

Maybe thats something to discuss with him, i'm sure he'll be able to figure something out for you.
