It wasn't looking at all great at high tide today in Brighton, but the wind is dropping off and shifting north - I'll try later tonight on the flood. Sadly back up to London tomorrow, but looks like it should be improving especially as the tide drops off over the next week. I'm off again tomorrow - will give a viz update before I go!

I'm giving up with the vis and heading in over the weekend regardless. There's got to be some fish somewhere that fancy coming for dinner, and I need to get wet!!

Nice one Liam. Yesterday morning it was looking pretty grim for about 500m out to sea. But there must be fish about - I went for a walk along the beach on Wednesday morning and there was a seal about 30 yards out, swimming along parallel to the beach. Never seen one round here before.

Had a snoop about with Liam but the water at a couple of spots was literally like coffee! I think it was literally 20-30cm viz. Worst I've ever seen it I think.

bloom bloom bloom. water's browny green and I couldn't be bothered to get in this morning. Then I read the posts by the dude spearing in Norfolk and felt ashamed. Will be getting in later, even if it means swimming around very fast in zero viz on the off chance of headbutting a fish.

Looked like the sea was clearing a bit, so I went in at Brighton just before high water. Viz was speartip on the surface (of my 70cm pumpgun) and butt-of-gun +10cm at the bottom. So I guess that means viz is improving?
Nothing seen bar swirling clumps of bloom.

Nice to hear vis is clear bobsandsausage! Millimetre everyday! I'm sure you'll all be relieved to hear the bass are well and truly in now. The rod and reel guys are catching them anyway!

I think we need to settle on measuring viz in millimeters in Sussex, we'll leave the meter unit of measurement to Dorset, Cornwall etc...

yep the bass are here - just went for a run along the sea front and met a kayak fisherman filleting a nice one...

Hi all,

it's good to hear that the fish are back.

I’ve been out of the county working for most of the last 2 weeks, what is the viz looking like?

I have a couple of weeks off now so looking to get in as much as posible if anyone is heading out and needs a buddy, I’m your man PM me.

Nearly made it down this morning, but was a bit late getting ready. Where did you go in? Off Brighton?

I went in off Brighton yesterday evening, the vis was shocking! I could barely see my hands! The sea has been like a mill pond for the past few days so I was hoping for so much more...

Hi Liam, yes, Brighton - tried a couple of spots.
Mevdog - sorry to hear you had the same result bro!
