Dorset & south Devon certainly have some. I expect Sussex does too. The ones I have seen are usually fairly easy to spot, sitting on top of sand or gravel, although they are sometimes hidden/obscured by seaweed, poor visibility and often mixed up amongst pebbles & rocks. They sometimes scoot along above the sea bed, usually not though. I usually check out any "old" scallop shells. Usually they are old but sometimes they are not....anyone know if we get any scaollps here on the south coast. i have never found any or do you have to dig for them underwater or something.
because i was thinking depending on how far they are out you may be able to shore dive them. people dive the bognor reef from the shore and thats like a mile out.
hi jwells , water does look good on the cam , if you go to the pier have a look at the end to see if the bass are still there ! i use a cressi 7mm competition suit , because its old and i am a wuss i also wear a rash vest underneath . think maybe i will buy a new ellios with camouflage , they seem to get good reviews , if anyone has experience of them i would be grateful for your comments .
