Anyone else dive at the weekend? Conditions were great so risked my ear problems as these days are few and far between on our coast! 4 bass, 6 pollock and 1 4lb lobster. Good times!

Nice one Liam, newbi so only been in 3 times. Went hove lagoon rocks today but without weights couldn't stay down and only saw two sizesable bass that where to fast for me. The mackerel where like missiles. How anyone can spear them
Is beyond me.

Just got in from a dive that lasted longer than planned, tried a new spot off seaford, was convinced I'd find fish there, I was determined not to give up until I'd dived as much as I could. Found one small lobster which I left, school of small mackerel, loads of starfish and nothing else in best part of 4 hours diving.
Guess I'll be going hungry tonight!
On the plus side tides are getting smaller this week so vis was improving from the weekend, prob 1.5 meter give or take, bit less inshore.

Another fruitless dive, managed 2 pout and didn't see anything else except wrasse and more bloody pollack. Hopefully conditions will keep for the weekend so will try again!

Nice one mate....good to stick it out in poor conditions; and good to meet you last week . Sorry I couldn't talk longer; I was with a student.

Hi lee, guessed you were busy last week, was good to finally meet you after reading so much about your dives, your updates were half my motivation to get back in the water after getting home from years of spearing abroad!
It was also nice to see that Dorset occasionally gets as bad conditions as what we have in Sussex most of the time, it was just a shame that it had to be the one weekend I decided to come down!
Glad to see you're back on the forum again also!

Big crab and two pollock at bognor, did see a big strippy silvery thing disapear before I could get a proper look at it.
Hard to be stealthy with the wife splashing on top. Hopefully better tomorrow. Viz was a good 3m maybe more but a touch milky. Hopefully better luck tomorrow,

hi guys thinking to go tonight to brighton to do some spearfishing . any viz reports??? few days there was no wind so maybe wiz will be ok??

Just noticed that my massive story about my trip to Greece got deleted, or never posted! Ah well. Vis is really good at the moment, had a mixture of spearing and scuba over the weekend around Brighton and Worthing. Vis picked up to around 7m on Sunday but sadly my dive was a bit ruined when I found atleast 2 giant Ballan wrasse that had been speared but not taken. They were still alive but only just. Why on earth would someone shoot them then just chuck them back?! Not exactly a challenging bit of target practice are they?

Hello everyone
I'm a italian guys and I alaways spearfishing in my country, for 17 year, I live in wimbledon from 6 months,
and I finally could ship the fishing gear. I'd like to know if someone could suggest me some good spot in the south cost (sussex I think or at least within easy reach of wimbledon by car (which I will rent) )
many thanks

Bognor is easy Ramon. I was taken out by a local spearo and love the place though I have not seen many bass. I'd like to try the outer reef as I like abit if depth.
Shame about the wrasse, I was always told there not good eating. Why would anyone waste a shot to reload, I was tempted to shoot a dog fish once but there too easy and too. What's best west pier or bognor inner reef!

many thanks Ashley
