I have driven all over, Portlet looks ok right tucked in to the cliffs as Andy’s pictures show but is only a small part of the bay and most of it has a nasty swell, in fact all the west coast has a nasty swell.
Bulwer, where we were yesterday looks horrible!
The best place I found was Frort la Marchant, even that has offshore wind blown white caps but overall looks ok.
The main issue is the relitivly small area but I don’t see much choice?

Bay de Pecqueries looks surfable, strong southerly at the moment with a surprising amount of swell. All the spots are going to look churned up initially due to the high spring allowing waves to go unbroken on usually protective outer reefs.port grat to chouet has surf breaking on the outer headlands but calm inside and will be fine on the low. All the spots due to the size of the low will be calm around low and swell free

Current swell and wind live off the channel light vessel. 7 second period gives enough energy for surf to wrap into most of the west coast. And past the point to bulwer Avenue at high. May have to watch out for the first hour if super shallow in the weed bed by fort le plomb/ Marchant, surf unlikeleybdue to the southerly aspect of the swell, should be swell free near low tide (1h before to 2h after the swell up there gets blocked )

I suggest we all meet at Fort la Marchant at 10am and see if we are happy to get in the water.
Small car park just right of the Martello tower at the end of Fort Le Marchant.
My number is 07781 101156 if any one need help getting there.

Cheers for a nice weekend guys and gals, well done on the win and a cracker of a white bream @Fro-in-shorts
Great to meet some of the new guys on the forum and catch up with others.

Huge thanks to Mart and Sarah for organising the whole thing and for going to so much effort as always. Hopefully we have better weather next year.

Defo not the same atmosphere without the crapauds though!
Is our team tankard in the post @jerseymike??

We defeated the weather, lots of nice interesting fish caught including a few new species not seen before like mackerel, red mullet and GG mullet.
Our whole garden has that ‘once a year’ aroma of fish!
At the end of the night the rocket stove consumed all the empty lobster shells but it now absolutely stinks of burnt lobster, all adding up to a truely pungent overall garden smell.
