Hello guyz and thxn for ur comments sorry for late reply...

This trip location was Ras Al Khayma my friend supposed to go night fishing using his net but he could not manage that so we decided to go night dive at 1:00 am where we manage to go at 3 and get in the water at 4 am till 10 am... Waves were around 1 ft high high tide water was cold but not sure how much was using my 3.5 mm Beachaut depth was around 8 meters maximum.

In one of my dives i went down to the bottom as always and i was laying down still when i look up a bit i saw the Cuda approaching and going i was aiming but the range was far then i wait for a while again the fish came in nice range and position i aimed and shoot then the shaft came in but it was not a head shot!!! so what i did i run to the boat give my gun to our friend on the boat and swim away LOLz ==> Coward that time my buddy was down the water and saw the CUDA moving and spinning then he pull the line and give it a head shoot which make it cool down...

Here some photos not all fish were caught by me but i enjoyed a lot...

Was great dive all credits goes to my friend who arranged this trip...

Was nice week end and we got two days off spent three days so far spearfishing and yesterday was only freediving!!! First time i am going a trip only for freediving and taking photos here i will add some photos and clips of todays dive later on will add the previous one. One question if someone has experience in uploading videos and decreasing their quality bcoz some of them 70 MB i would appreciate any help.

Todays dive was in Um Al Quan Wreck spot. Temp was around 25 degrees celcius wind was around 3 knots high tide Maximum depth was around 8 meters we had very strong current which was pain for us and we had bad time finding the wreck.

Todays dive was in Khorfakkan spot it was on 3-12-2010. Temp was around 25 degrees Celsius wind was around 3 knots high tide Maximum depth was around 14 meters. In this trip i did only free diving but vis did not help me!!! Anyway i enjoyed it and saw how does it feel only to free dive and take photos i were going down and see my scuba buddies. It was giving me confidence to stay more at the bottom.

Still i am training on removing my snorkel when i go down!!!

Do you eat those sea urchins? They look different from ours (yours have longer spikes).

The reason I ask: your pics of sea urchins made me hungry! I'm craving right now for a dish of spaghetti with sea urchins (and olive oil and grated lemon zest.....).

hehehe Got u spaghetti used to eat lots of them in Lebanon but unfortunately here in UAE it is not eatable... Used to eat them on the rocks without anything just the knife and thats it :t

salam alekum Saleh

Nice fish and interesting night diving........
I wanted to ask you if you have ever gotten down to Salalah for spearfishing?
I did some really nice yellow fin hunting there two years ago, but I have heard on this forum that spearguns are illegal in Oman? There was no problem with me taking my gun out from Salalah port in 08' and the fishing was great! What do you know about this?
PS keep the pictures coming

Wa alikom ASSALAM my friend thnx for ur complement...

I never been to Oman for spearfishing... Either in Oman or in UAE no clear rules regarding spearfishing we have encountered many different cases that the coast guards were more than friendly and very few cases i heard there were not friendly in either Oman or UAE but after all if you have Local friend who owe boat u can get with them and do not worry about anything regarding guns also it depends on luck...
One of my friends he get his gun easily to UAE (But bear in mind u do not have to call ur gun as gun call it diving equipment or anything else) Now a days i think it is more tight at airports due to the cases happened in UAE that discriminated the security in UAE...

Anyway as i said just keep low profile in ur diving and the more people u know here u can manage it...

When u come to UAE give me a shout
