ian unless you have a mould or other void that needs filling then i dont think its worth using expanding foam - cost mainly, but the ease of blocking up some kingspan makes it too easy...

what he said! Its handy but if you are shaping something to fill you may as well just shape.

and glassing it should be fine

pond test goes well bouyancy looks good !will it sink to bottom in the sea tho!

Wow! That is absolutely amazing Jonny - works mind-blowingly well!

If it's too expensive to produce on your own, what about contacting a few companies to see if there is any interest in a collaboration? Mako Spearguns make their own attachments for GoPro's - they might be interested?

If you're considering commercialising it, I'd remove all of your CAD drawing and photos

Thanks Mike The latest version is a fair bit better and the one i will build tomorrrow will have some more important mods that will improve it again. I'm enjoying the project but if i can sell a few to cover my costs then all good i am looking at making a mould in the next few weeks...
Here's the latest video from V.2:

I just cant get my head around how amazing the footage is!
It just looks like there is some guy following you with a camera & panning around for the best shot LOL - its brilliant!
Apart from the follower success it also shows how barren our seas are at this time of year.
What about night diving, you could design a bigger model to carry a light & go hands free?

V2 looks.. well films great foxfish is right its like having a second man the swell moves it round a bit but it looks like the camera man's panning round you !slightly shorter line or deeper water would move it out of surge zone has it a sprung arm or weight to keep line out of sight?I take it no fish were seen .weather looks fantastic any wind down your way?

Another great vid Jonny, Vis still poor in Jsy, no where near what ur getting! The easterlies, small tides and reducing swell might give a slight chance of improvement for Thursday.

This is awesome Jonny...can't believe how good the footage is!!

May be a daft question.....do you think it will effect how the fish react to you - will it spook them or make them more inquisitive?

Anyway keep the video's coming as the footage is fab!

Nick

I'm really looking forward to the clip that shows Jonny lying in wait in the kelp and a great big double figure bass swims over his back and up to have a look at the camera... then scoots off before Jonny even realised he was there

Cheers Nick Not a daft question at all, in fact very important to a spearo.
I suspect that the 2 hookless fishing lures hanging from the trailing edge may act as a flasher
Seriously tho, i always think that the fish already know i'm there and usually they come in for a look. Also the camera is usually slightly behind me, so a fish would have to cross my sniping/hunting position first.
I am REALLY looking forward to some footage with a big shoal of mullet cruising around, but they usually prefer less clear water...

Rob that big bass is ALWAYS behind me! That would be amazing footage tho eh

Ha love it, I'm sure its happened to all of us at some point but we'll never know - at least this way when that 10lb'er swims behind Jonny we will all know and get to laugh er I'm mean offer our heart felt condolences!!

That is a fair point and probably the case...oh well no excuses for not showing us some great footage of some excellent fish being caught then....no pressure!!
