We're official. Welsh Spearfishing Club

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
It's no problem Bro

And a little reminder to whoever thinks they are coming onto the new website and start talking politics....you will find a 75cm straight up your arse. The new club website will be for Spearfishing, if you wanna talk shit...stay here

Blimey... all a bit serious DafyddRees... DB is a public forum and hardly the place to set up anything really... bar helping people to get in touch... which it has already done... isn't this forum more for taking the mickey out of each other and picking up invaluable information along the way, rather than anything serious?
Be under no illusions though there's some very important issues at stake here... spearo's in New South Wales faced/are facing a complete ban from all of Australia's MCZ's last year... you only need to do a bit of Googling to discover the pressures we'll also be facing shortly... and still without a unified voice... Just about EVERYONE else around the world seems to have a coherent ethical spearo representation where its needed now... why not us?... more importantly we still have no formal representation at the official Welsh MCZ consultations and stakeholder processes?
The BSA have made advances lately but will always be restricted in regional interests, operation and appeal because they still do not represent non-competitive spearo's or even spearo's who couldn't give a damn either way. I know because I asked the BSA Chairman directly as an official BSA member why it didn't... to his credit he has been doing what he can for the future of spearfishing but will always be restricted by his own historically competitive management committee? (and a useless web site) In much the same way that a new all inclusive association must be democratic and majority managed by elected members... with no opportunities for self-appointment, radicalisation or even personal influence which will/can all affect a club only set up?.. as jaymz points out... setting up South-Mid-North Welsh associations make no difference other than social factors and also the ability to insure members for liability... being represented where it counts, reasonably well organised and in touch does... anything else is clearly unimportant?

What I do notice tho, is that everyone tries to go 1 better than the following to make them seem more intelligent....almost like a competition

As I said jaymz... nothing of any real importance

And its localised now to South Wales

The website will be released soon and it has South Wales in the title you will be happy to know.

You heard it here first

Does that mean the welsh spearfishing website artiz linked to earlier is another "association" composed entirely of artiz and his imaginary friends?

So you really are 16 then... anyway what are you doing to help here? Or is calling "Ireland a corrupt third world banana republic" on a multi-national public forum the limit to your intelligence, maturity and input on DB... grow up or naff off troll!

Welcomed point Mr X so thanks... The 'members only' site does have a (Joomla) Welsh translation pack installed and we have a couple of fluent Welsh speaking members... but on a technical level it is going to take a while to get it right... especially on our forum. However the public site will eventually be translated into Welsh too... time is on our side... for now!

Any mailing list or info for club meetings etc and becoming a member would be appreciated.

Don't think this tread is very active anymore, check out the South Wales and west thread it's a bit more up to date and might find people who can help you there! Dont think a Welsh club was set up after, to political! Have a look on Facebook if you have it, U.K. Spearfishing buddy's or South Wales spear fishing might help!
