Hi to all,

I am new to spearfishing & have been out a once with 'surfnspear' & went up to Vobster Quay last year with a few others & did my first dive thanks to some loaned gear. I now have my own after buying a beginers package.

I am mates with 'surfnspear' who introduced me to this & later introduced me to a few guys, I remember Podge & Bryn, apologies to all that I have met as I am rubbish with names. I haven't shot anything, but picked up a scallop in Weymouth a few weeks ago. I was told it was a bad day.

I am living in Wimborne Minster & Brett said I should check out the Wessex club potentially to get more experience & meet up with other newbies.

So here I am.

Hi all I cannot make the club dive tonight at Swanage. Does anybody Weymouth way fancy a dip in Portland Harbour? I was thinking sandsfoot for 18.45hrs just for a bit of a dibble. Cheers Steve

Only did about an hour in the harbour, viz was very poor(not a surprise), lots of spiders all going for it. Saw a few small wrasse and one large shoal of fry. Well it was good exercise and better than watching telly, my first dive on my todd. Hope you guys did better at Swanage.

ummm, i may have found some Oyster’s somewhere - are they good to eat?

Lots of Oysters in the harbour Paul, yeah good to eat, but a real pain to open, I don't have the knack, so I tend to leave them. I don't like them raw though, Olive Oil and garlic is the way to go for me.

I reckon they taste like cold, salty snott, but some people seem to like them, mostly older types with the onset of memory loss.rofl rofl
