Actually It was 0 points,0 puntos,0 poin,0 poan,Incredible how the sea can change from 1 tuesday to another,viz was great but there was not a single silver fish in the whole bay!!!!.Millions of spiders though,by the way we have just had a feast tonight (Riquisimos!!! so yummy yummy)even my wife ate them (pregnant)she could not resist the temptation.
We enjoyed a nice swim but not profitable at all(apart from shellfish)
I am going to Cornwall tomorrow and coming back on tuesday evening so don't count with me for next tuesday ,sorry,I ll try to catch something in Cornwall.

Right then everybody, who's up for a dive tomorrow evening? It's half term, my wife's agreed to look after the babies, and I'm free! Looks like fairly strong NW winds for a day or two, but the tide's perfect for an evening dive and it looks like the sun will shine. So is it Newton's cove? Portland harbour? I've never dived around there before and am itching to try somewhere new...
I will be up for Newtons Cove again, although if there are no fish seen ths time round I will be looking for somewhere else next time.
I will aim to get there between 1745 & 1800-ish.

It looks like Newton's Cove is the place to go for reasonable viz in a NW wind, but if anybody knows anywhere better I'm open to suggestions?
I've never actually been to Newton's Cove before. Could anybody tell me how to get there? I've looked it up on google maps and it looks like I should drive to Newton's Road and park there somewhere. I guess you then dive on the West side of the breakwater there, within the sheltered waters of Portland Harbour. Does that sound right? I expect I'll be there about half five ish.
About right, there is a car park on Newtons Road between the Maltings & Spring road, park there.
Just remember to bring some cash as it is about £3.20 for about 4 hours, unless you can find a free space somewhere. It is 24 hours a day 7 days a week; the conning f%#*!^g b'st'rds.(They have some cameras, so they will catch you, even if you do pay, as what happened to Cesar).
Will be diving on the northern side of the wall. When set, walk back towards the water cross over at the mini roundabout under the bridge & walk up the path hang a right & go to the corner & there is some steps leading down.

That will be the steps.
Don't worry, if nobody is there i will be getting suited up & going in as soon as i am ready.
I will probably only have about 2 a half hours in, as I will get a bit cold with my 5mm suit, unless it has warmed up a bit since last week.

Cast your mind back 2 weeks when we saw nothing, same thing happened on Tuesday again. There was a pod of dolphins around Portland about 2 weeks ago, but was only notified yesterday, check out the Dorset thread for a video. It looks like they cleaned out Newton's. I will not be back there in a hurry. Maybe Durleston, Osmington or Ringstead next time, unless you have another idea.
Not a lot seen, got one pollack and took a bad shot at a large mullet. I put a little report in the Dorset Spearfishing 2011 thread...

Ahh Toni, welcome back to the south coast. I am not sure I need the competition when you come back & take all the good fish, best I get in a bit more now & get some time in the water.

Do not know, I am currently seeing WSWesterlies at 22 - 24mph on the web for tomorrow at 1600, so I think we may all be washed out apart from Newtons Cove & there is nothing in there, well not for the past 2 weeks in a row.
I am seeing 16mph westerly on the Thursday at 1600, may have to change the day to that & do a Durleston.
