where can I get neckweights?

Here's some images of the "monster" and the simple one, which is basically a weight belt with 0.5kg weights...Both work well for their purpose.

Is there a particular reason for the 2 solid lead blocks or did the extra weight just not fit into the rubber tube anymore?

Oh benny you mean bertha. :duh This is some of my neck weights ive made up.
Some for with a wetsuit with packing and some for no wetsuit and no packing. Ive also found the best neckweights for dnf it helps to have extra weight right in the middle to prevent rolling which i get during gliding and ive found that having a long one around my waist is preferable to a standard weight belt.
Oh and also putting some silicon at both ends prevents lead juice running down my neck. :rcard

Soon after making the weight, I realized it was still not heavy enough. Being lazy and not wanting to do it again, I just taped to 1.2kg weights to it, which seems to work out good enough.

Alison, Sub...You can imagine that coupled with a 1.5mm smoothskin elios suit...I'm starting to understand why some of the people at the pool look at me funny and keep asking for my phone number...I thought they were just friendly and interested in diving :girlie

Has anyone tried melting the lead into plates (perhaps 8x4x2 cm^3), bending them slightly and sewing them into comfy neck holder (something like ankle weights)? I guess you could get more kgs like that without compromising comfort?

I like the idea of marking them all with the exact weight i should do that. :duh
I tryed experimenting with that back weight like on the photo of Tom i think but you get very bad rollover depending how it sits on your back.

I tried the innertube backpack idea with an old chunk of lead from scuba.
Worked great.... until I got upsidedown and it almost knocked my brains out. Now I use ankle weights around my upper arms. As it turns out my bicep and calf are about the same diameter.

hi,

fortunately they have considered the fact that 40 lbs (almost 20kg?) of lead is what most freedivers are screaming for. finally, i say, a company who listens. and that the yellow safety loop is nicely streamlined yet easily accessible is just another detail to show the extreme usefulness of that jacket.
