Who in the heck in here used to quote Rumi in his posts?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
While he hasn't done anything with Rumi that I am aware of - Thomas Cleary has done a translation of the Q'uran. I'm not familiar with it - but am aquainted with some of this Daoist and Buddhist work - which is incredibly insightful. In some cases his translators notes are worth the price of the book. It's fair to say that very few people of any faith understand the Q'uran with depth and accuracy.

What about Zen:

We pray for our life of tomorrow,
Ephemeral life though it be;
This is the habit of our mind
That passed away yesterday.

- Ikkyu

The sound of the water
says what I think.

- Chuang Tzu

Contemplating the clear moon
Reflecting a mind empty as the open sky
Drawn by its beauty,
I lose myself
In the shadows it casts

- Dogen

The snow flakes fall each in their proper place

In spring hundreds of flowers,

In summer, refreshing breeze.

In autumn, harvest moon,

In winter, snowflakes accompany you.

If useless things do not hand in your mind,

Every season is a good season

- Wu-men Huai-kai

Empty-handed, I hold a hoe.

Walking on foot, I ride a buffalo.

Passing over a bridge, I see

The bridge flow, but not the water.

- Bodhisattva Shan-hui

The bamboo shadows are sweeping the stairs,

But no dust is stirred.

The moonlight penetrates deep in the bottom of the pool,

But no trace is left in the water.

Thirty spokes are joined together in a wheel,
but it is the center hole
that allows the wheel to function.

We mold clay into a pot,
but it is the emptiness inside
that makes the vessel useful.

We fashion wood for a house,
but it is the emptiness inside
that makes it livable.

We work with the substantial,
but the emptiness is what we use.

- Dao

I hope you enjoyed them.
