WSB sighting form

Are white sea bass populations in danger? I hope not. They are my favorite fish to eat...not to mention ecological impact. I had dreams of hunting them one day, as I have just started spearing up here in Alberta.

There's a successful breeding program going on down here in San Diego:

This season I've been seeing lots of wsb of all sizes around, some 12", probably just having been released. It's very exiting, I never even saw wsb ten years ago when I was here before.

I just wish they have the same program up here north. Maybe one of these days we would be hunting in the kelp rather than cursing the kelp.

There are pens they release them from in Carlsbad, I think. There are a couple more in Catalina Harbor. There's probably more around too. We can just wait for them to grow up.
